Kewl...

LOTS of info already... You guys really rock!

Interestingly enough, this knife seems to be one of the real oddballs that came out from Spyderco... seems as if there are quite a few variations here...

FWIW, this one may have come directly from Wayne as the guy I'm getting it from (who's ...

Additional questions maybe?

Regarding the Large Goddards with the black micarta handles... I've read that there were pocket clip differences... anyone able to clarify this for me? Also, I've heard that the large ones came in pouches instead of a box - what does that pouch look like? Did it have Spyderco or anything else ...

Thanks to both so far... I prefer the strange and unusual knives rather than sticking with one style specifically. A captain and T-mag are next on the horizon... I'll use my 'stimulus check' wisely and keep the $$$ in an American company's pockets. :spyder:

My Spydie Addiction...

Good grief. 3 years in and I've lost my marbles... :spyder: And these are just the Spydercos...

Congrats on your Chinook 2 Chris! That knife is a beast.

Thanks Aaron :) ... this is quite the monster knife... and it's definitely a Chinook 2 thanks to the pic posted by tonydahose.

In that pic, the blade profile is significantly different from mine. I like the way they changed the back of ...

So then...

I'm thinking that I've acquired a Chinook 2. :) It IS heavy, built like a tank, and has a serious lock on it. Looks very aggressive too with the combo edge...

I traded a Rainbow Fly (+ a couple dollars) for it. I'm pleased with the trade!!

At the same time, I also picked up a scorpius AND a black ...

Quick question here - Chinook

Ok all... what's the difference between the Chinook 1 and Chinook 2? The 3's differences are easy to spot. I just acquired one as a trade at a gun show today... the box is labeled C63GPS, the knife is made of CPM S30V steel. Was the 1 made of VG-10?

Truth be told, this is one BEAUTIFUL knife that ...

Mmmmmmm... shabarria......

:spyder: You plainly need a shabarria, ayoob and Jot then, we'd all like a s30v gunting  :spyder:

The Shabarria is one beautiful knife... I drool every time I stumble across one.

Part of the fun that I'm having with collecting the Spydies is also getting them on 'closeout' a lot of ...

:) Nice to see that I'm not alone in my Spydie world...

Can't wait to see this latest one when it gets here... It'll wind up in a case eventually with:

- VG-10 'Fly
- Centofante 2 (my favorite looking knife)
- Dodo (blue)
- YoJimbo (blue)
- colorado meerkat
- Volpe
- Vesuvius
- ATR
- Viele ...

That whale rescue blade story left me speechless... Kudos to Spyderco and Sal... true selfless humanitarian effort.

Back to the original thing here - I think the Herbst might be on the list somewhere. Neat knife, but was pricey for a small aluminum handled knife...

I'm new here, so take my comment ...

Happiness is...

Finding others that have this strange yet satisfying addiction to Spyderco products... It's really surprising how addicting they are!!!

Anyways, I just won a NIB Rainbow Spyderfly in an auction for $62!!! It'll find a home next to my plain VERY early Spyderfly with VG-10 blade and allen screws ...
