Jimping, where is the matter? It takes ten minutes, 5 on the dremel and 5 on a diamond file just to smothe everything up. Some time I found in my kitchen bread that seems much harder than this steel. :)

graphite is very effective in lubing, I use it on my motorbikes cables just to avoid the jam of oil and pollution. But is difficoult to have it penetrating if the knife if it is pinned. No matter if you can disassemle it.

what about drowing by dyng? It should be possible spayng something protective on the drowing area before dyng, or with different baths

Notch is usefull when duing whet whorks, lets say peeling an apple. The juice will drop from the notch without jamming in the handle. (Hope make myself undertood).
