Also, with its open back, the Millie is designed to be easy to clean without having to disassemble it.

I agree. I really don't want to go back to the S30V version after being spoiled by M390 (and also 20CP). Fortunately, I don't have to.

But then I never was really impressed with S30V and was never satisfied with it.

The P2 is my favorite folding knife also. A big part of the reason is the compression lock. I love the way the blade swings open and closed so freely but locks up almost as solid as a fixed blade. I sometimes wish the lock was a little easier to release, but that is a very minor quibble and it proba...

I loved the 20CP version but I find the M390 to be quite a bit better so I prefer to carry that one even though I don't much care for the color. Maybe it's just my technique (or lack thereof) but for some reason I just find it easier to make M390 sharper and it holds really well. Super easy to touch...

I think I will only be after the Para 2's, not the militaries as they are bigger and I dont like the 4 inch blades. I keep looking at the blue M390 but just not sure if I can bring myself to order one for $180 plus $10 shipping. I did get one of the green 204p ones on pre-order though and just want...

Para 2 is a great choice and a great value. But the Blue M390 version which is still available from the Bento Box Shop (or the Grey CTS 20CP if you can find one for equal or less than Blue M390), both offer much better edge holding than the S30V versions, so if that is important to you, those are we...

I wouldn't do it to my VG-10 blades but it looks like it produced the approximate equivalent of a stone washed finish.

You only need the diamond rods when you have to remove a lot of material, for reprofiling or repairing a chip, which usually isn't very often. But when you do have a need for them, it's very nice to have them. On the other hand, I use the UF rods all the time.

I have many expensive and excellent water stones and yet I still frequently use the Sharpmaker for touching up my folders and for setting the initial bevel angle (with the optional diamond rods). It is a great value and (along with the optional extra rods and a strop) is really all you need. The who...

I use a Belomo Triplet 10x loupe. It has a large field of view for a loupe and its power is sufficient to clearly see the scratch patterns and everything else I might need to see to assist in and learn about sharpening. It's made in Belarus (Eastern Europe) where they produce high quality optics at ...

I hadn't really noticed but after taking a closer look at the thumb jimping on the CF M390 Milie I'm currently using, I see it is also arguably oriented kind of "backwards." Honestly, I think it's better that way as it is less abrasive on my thumb than it would be if it was oriented the ot...

For me, the M390 Para 2 is the best yet, (not referring to the scale color, just the blade steel). Since the Knifeworks 204P is supposed to be a clone of M390, it should be equally good and a better value.

Nice photo.

The only problem I'm having with mine is I'm finding the jimping to be too sharp. Much more abrasive than my other Para 2's. That should be easy to fix though.

My 2 M390 P2's arrived today. Factory grinds on both of them are at least as good as any I've seen from Spyderco with no flaws that I can see. Great smooth action and lockup although one required slight adjustment of the pivot screw before the blade would fall closed the way I like. I really didn't ...

The difference in blade length between the Millie and the Para 2 is not as great as the photos in this thread make it seem. That is because most of the apparent size difference is due to the unusually large handle of the Millie. There is only 1/2 inch of difference in actual blade length, however, a...
