Come to think of it HoB, I think that Sal mentions something about this on the Sharpmaker VHS tape, doesn't he  . Yes, he says they come from the factory at about 30 degrees. It's right after he recommends that you sharpen most knives at the 40 degree angle because most steels won't hold ...

I'm a huge Case fan. I'm going to get a Russlock as soon as possible, because the lever actually rivals the Spydie hole on small knives, and of course, it's made by Case. Man, that knife would be awesome with a clip! Anyway, you won't be dissapointed with a Case knife, and they really aren't that ex...

Thanks everybody. You're not barging in at all, ATE, and thanks for the suggestion. I just knew that Sword and Shield was a big Case fan and thought he might know. Oh, BTW, ATE, you wouldn't happen to be the forum member formerly known as Allen E. Treat, would you? (since you have the same initials ...

Do not take any kind of knife with a lock mechanism that is easy to close one handed. (Like a linerlock. It is extremely easy to close for someone who knows how, but people who don't are always telling me they can't figure out how to close it, so they start playing with it and getting careless.) I r...

I ask them to first answer a few simple questions before handling my cutting instruments: 1. Who is Sal Glesser and what does he have to do with this knife? 2. What is the MSRP of this knife? 3. Do you know the name of the locking mechanism and how to properly open and close it? 4. Are you going to ...

Due to the fact that I will not carry it on a regular basis, I ground the tip at about a 10 degree angle and now it's like a chisel, with the broken-off tip just as sharp as the rest of the blade. (not that I'm stupid enough to use a knife as a chisel) I also dug out an old fine-grit EZ Lap Diamond ...

How can people take such awful care of such expensive knives?
Someone just gave me a Case 31048 (not sure of the name of the pattern) in CV with the blade covered in rust and the tip broken off. They even managed to break the liner, because the blade doesn't even have that characteristic Case "snap" when it opens and closes. I removed all the rust I ...

Sword and Shield, can you please help me out?
What is the name of a Case CV knife, pattern # 048? It's a 2000 model with yellow synthetic handles that someone gave me. I tried checking the site, but I couldn't find the chart that tells you what the pattern numbers are. Also, could you please tell me where to find out the pattern numbers for fut...

How many of you have knives with 154-cm steel?
I was just curious, because I know nothing about this steel except that Microtech and M.O.D. both seem to use it a lot. So, please let me know what you like and don't like about it. Thanks.
