Mid '80s, my wife bought me a plainedge Worker.

At the time it was the ugliest **** thing I ever saw. However upon using it I found the real beauty was in the utility of it. One hand opening/closing and no belt sheath required. Been hooked since. Still have that worker.

Gave my wife an Aqua Salt SE to be used for gardening, cleaning produce, etc. Hose it off when finished and throw it back in the shed for next time. So far so good.
