In a world so polarized and full of negativity, this was literally a breath of fresh air, I've been blasting the album regularly since it went out

Re: I don't understand automatics.

I don't get OTS myself, so cannot comment on them. However I like OTFs for the ease of use (you never have to change your grip) and gadget-y factor. Arguably an OTF is the only non-fixed knife where your fingers never really cross path with the blade opening or closing (no arc required). They are al...

Re: Sal - What's next for the Military?

The Military is my favorite knife. I have around 25 of them and have been carrying one everyday since 2007 (except on beach days, where a Pacific Salt has been my go to also since 2007). Basically, I'd like to see any new steel, although if a LC200N version would come out most likely I'm gonna stop ...

Re: What is your profession?

Currently I'm a procurement professional, before that have been an ERP consultant and before that have been working alternatively in real estate, finances and stock exchange. Basically, the only red thread linking my jobs is that I have zero need for a knife :D , which doesn't prevent me from carryi...

Give me lc200n with a green scale on that side and serrated h1 with a yellow scale on the other side. :)
Overcoming the first immediate impulse (which was to say 'what the heck, man') I think I'd actually buy something like this...

Re: DLT Kapara Exclusive!

I'm in the hard pass camp, not averse to S30V and love the CF on the standard, so really not sure how sprint/exclusives would be able to up the game on this one. Never say never, though. I like the Kapara platform a lot, will most likely buy the slip-joint when/if it happens, will definitely be inte...

Re: Spyder Classics: The C-59 Shabaria

One of my favorite Ethnic knives, I still have the 2011 (I think?) sprint run with CF handle. Can't say it's seen much use in real life, but hey it's my de-facto fondling knife when re-reading anything in the Dune universe :)

Re: Covid-19 vaccination starting (UK)

Not claiming to be an expert on this stuff, but my understanding is that Astra Zeneca uses an adenovirus over which they have 'grafted' the actual gene for the spike protein, whereas mARN vaccines are actually a very clever piece of genetic engineering to trigger your body's immune reaction so in a ...

Hopefully we'll see new variants of the Millie instead of witnessing it's demise. Looking forward to the comp lock although I dearly love my liner lock Millies. All 25 of them ;)
I'll see your 25 and raise you 6 :D
well played, sir :)

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

One of these typically accompany my main EDC (lately it's been the CF Native Chief).
The Boker/Hogue has the more useful blade shape, but I find it hard to stay away from my apocalyptic UT (although there are zero practical reasons to carry :) )

Re: Why did you join?

Joined back in 2007, after the epiphany that all my knife needs are potentially covered by the Pacific Salt and Military. At that moment, I'd just purchased my 3rd Military (BG-42, after a regular S30V and the D2 sprint) and with it came the chilly realization that 'this might be IT, my holy grail -...

Eduard Bradichansky. No new designs or projects (IIRC he was killed by the Hamas), but I'd looove a H1 (or LC200N) SpyderCard.

Re: Spyderco Military Observations

Great story, Vivi - and one I can definitely relate to. 2007 was also the year when I've discovered both the Pacific Salt and the Military and they've quickly became the golden standard to measure everything else against. This thread triggered my own 'down memory lane' moment, I hope it's not derail...
