I'm in. I like VG-10, but am warming to S30V of late. Just feels a little better to me. Would like to try the S35 on the Native 5 as well.

I'm not picky actually. I just think I would like the skeletonized liners and the FFG blade. I like a good steel, but I don't think any of the Sprints have been done in a bad one.

If pushed, I love the Blue G-10.

Manix2 Sprints

Please forgive my ignorance as I ask this question. One of the knives I always go back to looking at is the Manix2 as it seems to be a great knife at a great price. However, I usually prefer a FFG blade. I notice most if not all of the sprints for his model have those. Now the dummy part. Where do y...

Good points. In truth, I am not as much concerned about the strength of the lock as much as how tightly it locks. I am more concerned about play in the back lock as opposed to the other two locks. I'm highly unlikely to need it to do anything that would break the lock.

Thank you guys for the responses. I know in my head that the Compression Lock or Ball Bearing Lock are likely much stronger, but how much stronger? The Para 2 and the Manix 2 are a little big for this use for me, though I still really want a Para 2.

Native5. Some Questions If I May?

Good Afternoon, Every year I go through the process of looking for a new knife to go with my aging Caly3, and every year I push it off as the Caly3 does what I ask and keeps going. I have decided this is the year, and am looking at options again. My perfect knife: 3" US Made Quality Steel G-10 ...

Thank you for the pictures! Based on this I think I am very much leaning toward the Para 2. I am sure that the Native5 is an excellent knife, but seems to be at least somewhat similar to my Caly3 in application. I don't have anything the size of the Para, while I have the Caly3 and the G-10 UKPK. No...

Pic Request? Para 2 and Native 5

I have narrowed down my choice to one of these models for my next knife. I only get a new one every year or so, so I try to make it count. I would like to get an idea of the difference in size of these two both lengthwise and width. I know the Para will be larger, but how much? Ilike the Native, but...

I mostly have carried my Caly3, UKPK, and Delica in the tip-up configuration that they come in. I am now used to that, so would have to adjust to tip-down. What I wasn't sure of is if the Para-Military was more likely to open easily therefore making it more risky to pocket carry. I have never had an...

Para-Military Tip-Down?

I tried to search but found no answer. I am considering a Para-Military and was curious why the default setup is tip-down rather than tip-up like most of my other Spydercos.

I am sure that there is a reason, I just don't know what it is. Any help appreciated.

Thanks guys for all of your responses.

Luckily, I found my Caly3. Unluckily, I have now seen the Chaparral, and want one badly.

Best Replacement for Caly3?

I have misplaced my Caly3, which has been a daily companion for a few years. I'm looking for suggestions for a replacement. Things I loved about the Caly3: 1. Size. I don't want anything bigger, ruling out the Caly3.5. I alos liked the slim profile. 2. Weight. I liked that it had a little, but not t...

Quick Cleaning Question

When we are talking about cleaning, and we say put some dish detergent in the pivot, what is the best way to do so? From the end on the outside or inside? I know this seems like a silly question.

Same with applying oil? And will something like Breakfree or Gun Oil work?

Thanks.

I'm leaning toward the Wave model.

Have they always been the same color FRN? I have seen pictures that make them look Dark Gray, and some look almost like a Dark Blue color.

Delica: Emerson Wave or FFG?

To start, I can't buy both. But I can buy one new Delica. At first I really wanted one of the new FFG ones, but I'm not in love wit hany of the FRN color choices. I could live with the Gray one. But then the Emerson Wave variation caught my eye. So now I'm torn. I like the color and shape, but don't...

Nothing works for everyone. If you're fine with the UKPK's non-locking design it does have a better choil than the Caly 3. I can understand someone feeling that having both is somewhat redundant. Manix 2 is different enough to be worth a try. This was kind of my thought process. I'm certainly not k...

Thinking the Unthinkable?

I am actually toying with the idea of selling my Caly3.

It's not that I don't appreciate it, it's just that I find for a pocket slicer I like my UKPK more. And I think I would benefit from having something different like a Manix 2 as my "lockable" knife.\

Am I crazy?

UKPK FRN Leaf?

Please forgive me if this is a common question, but I did a search and couldn't find anything.

Do we know when the FRN UKPK Leaf blades will be available? I prefer that I think to the Drop Point, but am ready to pick one up.

Thanks!

How big is the Manix 2 really?

I am really interested in getting a Manix 2. I don't get to buy a lot of knives, usually one a year or so, so I try to make it a good one. I'm used to carrying a Caly 3 or UKPK and love the size, but I'm a big guy and could certainly get away with more most of the time. How beefy is the Manix 2 real...
