My only CE spydie is my Manix - and that spyder edge portion does come in handy very frequently. I don't generally like or use serrations - but when you do need them, you really need them!

The edge isn't 20/20 like the standard angle on the Sharpmaker?

Of all of the Spydies I have, the Lava gets the most carry. Its small enough to be carried virtually unnoticed. If I know that I'll be doing a lot of cutting, I will throw a Manix in my other pocket. I'm loving the Lava though - its replaced my (blade tech) Mouse as my permanent EDC.

The loss of the Manix without an immediate replacement is not on my list of "good things that have happened." Hopefully the next giant leaf blade lockback isn't too far off...

Very little pressure. I was using too much at first, as well.

I just used my Manix to slice up some apples for my son. Its nice having such a versatile "big" folder in your pocket... reading for anything!

Did you put a little oil on it and see if that helped at all?

I get strong sentimental attachment to my heavily used knives and tools. I've always bought new stuff for friends - never given away anything that I was "attached" to.

Maybe you should buy a new Millie or get your hands on a nice used one, and ask your friend to trade you for it, as you've still ...
