The G-10 is a different quality:

The tenacious uses the same style of G-10 scales (both pattern and material) as the Byrds e.g. G-10 Cara Cara.

The American made spydies (don't have a japanes made spydie to compare with) use from what I'm told, custom G-10 that's peel-plied to have a better ...

From my impressions (played with it a for about 5-10 minutes, decided to postpone buying it until the owner could get better ones in, the current batch was a little shredded by purolater)

It looks exactly like the BG-42 i have, and probably just as sharp if not sharper.

They were very stiff out of ...

I got a Wings the other day too, pretty impressive stuff.

The SE side is wickedly sharp... I'm impressed by the build quality of this knife!

We're not allowed handguns here in Canada so I compensate by having my Millie and Manix on me :P.

I generally cycle between 5-6 Spydies/Byrds depending on my mood.

This week I've been trying the new Tenacious, and I'm liking it. Wore it all day today at work in Tip down, didn't notice it at all, very discreet and solid.

My "Go-to" knife is probably my black S30V military PE, my "beast" knife ...

Link?

That'd be pretty sweet.

Wonder if there's a page where it lists which military (not the knife!) groups get what knives as standard equipment.

I know that emerson was commissioned to do some knives for certain groups a little while back, and the Civilian was made for some special ops guys ...

I have a PE one (where did you get that SE 1??? it looks sweeeeeet)

and it is very impressive, especially for the price.

Only spyderco could take what some people would consider inferior steel, and make it feel so solid in a knife.

Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

If Sal ever made a Millie in ZDP-189 (carbon fibre, G-10, even FRN, I don't care).

I'd buy it, no questions asked.

You know, my local store got 10 of them in today.

5 of them were pre ordered, but i had a chance to buy one (or 5 i guess).

The thing is, I wasn't quite THAT impressed with this batch today (I already have the D2, Black S30V, and BG42)

I guess cause I really can't tell much a difference between ...

Anyway, sorry to gloat, but the Tenacious REALLY impressed me, and I'm chinese, so I know how tough it ...

Out of curiosity (since I'm actually visiting China in a few weeks), does anyone know where the Byrd factory is?

(Wanna see if I can pick up a few dozen or so at a special price ;)

I currently have a G-10 Cara Cara, and a SS PE Crossbill.

Planning to get a 2 G-10 Crossbills (one in PE, one in SE), a G-10 Flight, and maybe a SS Flight.

The SS Crossbill surprised me as it was my first SS knife, and I found it to be pretty smooth after a bit of wearing in.

I was wondering if ...
