Just a thought, but maybe Spyderco is setting up its retail authorized dealers (i.e., retailers who have a direct relationship with Spyderco) before wholesalers.

D-Roc wrote:why do PE versions usually have more of a collectors value?
I think they are just more popular with the general public, and thus, they may have decreased supply once the knife hits "collector" status.

Yes, I'm a lefty, despite the best efforts of the nuns. I don't know how difficult it would be, but you'd definitely need a Dremel and some patience, and a few cheapie knives in G10, preferably. I agree with Blackhair, the knife seems less tactical to me. But what do I know.

Textured UKPK

I couldn't help but grab one of the closeout UKPK's on the factory site a while back, but I really wanted a unique touch on this cool little knife. Well, Brad certainly provided that for me. Textured, "polished" G-10 scales on the otherwise run of the mill UKPK. I couldn't help but slip th...

Dark ebony with texturing, of course. It looks and feels great.

I read they used a race car for the exhaust sound of the Bullitt Mustang in the movie.

Yeah, I was just saying, the one I have is a T10, FWIW. I'm not sure I'd read anything into that, other than the screw is different than the one on Tungsten's Dodo.

I have a black Dodo here (on loan to me) and the screw is quite a bit longer than the one you show there, about 2mm longer. Also, it uses a T10.

A few key points, regardless of whether or not you are using a lightbox: 1. Use macro mode on your camera, or use a macro lens. 2. Use a tripod, or another way to keep the camera steady. One trick is to use the shutter delay/timer for about two seconds, if you are holding the camera by hand, that wa...

Keep me in mind if a spot opens up on the wagon. Though my knife money has likely dried up with so many new Spydie offerings this year.

A fair number of electronics and photography "dealers" are just fronts for scammers, I was nearly scammed by one when I tried to buy a digital SLR camera. I got lucky. I sent back the bait and switch merchandise, and threatened to report them to the state Attorney General, by whom I had di...

I've seen a lot of pictures of them around here, individually and in group shots, I think they hit the "collector" and "people looking for a more sheeple friendly knife" groups rather well. How about people looking for something different? I put a ZDP-189 SE Endura blade in my p...

I would absolutely own a Para-Millie, if the clip were ambidextrous. I am thinking of having one modified for lefty carry, anyway. Obviously a great design.

It is now about two weeks past the end of January, that is not a long time, by almost any measure. As was indicated in the second response to your original post, Knifecenter indicates these are in stock, at, or very close to, your target price. If you must have the 306UF right now, and you are unwil...

@Will V. and araneae , companies generate a lot of sales thorough forums like this. It is not just a service to knife enthusiasts, but also (and chiefly) a marketing strategy. I know, because I have built such forums for several clients. With all due respect, I am well aware of the marketing strate...

Love it, but don't have it, and probably won't buy it. It would be a no-brainer for me, if it had a compression lock, and ambidextrous clip.

ROFL D-Roc.... that is in the Pacific Peso (aka Aussie Dollars) So that is about USD$1 :D :p Dan That would have been about right ten years ago. These days, however, the Pacific Peso and the American Peso are worth roughly the same. (current actual exchange rate, 1 Australian dollar = 0.9046 U.S. d...
