I recently saw a counterfeit Civilian at a local knife show. It came in a Spyderco box without a pouch. At closer inspection, the texture of the G-10 was rough compared to my Civilian. The screws were different and there were 2 liners without the Boye detent.
The knife and price appeared to be a ...

Mike,
Thanks for presenting an effective Knife self defense system which develops a skill level that can be retained under stress.

This was a great oppurtunity to train with Mike Janich in Grove City.It was a 3 hour drive instead of a 5 state trek to Colorado.
The MBC class is well structured .Each block of instruction builds on the other. The curriculum can be retained even if the student does not have a Martial art backround ...

Designing a Knife is not an easy task.First, the idea for the blade has to be drawn out on paper. The paper rendition is now made up into an actual working "Prototype".It is from this step that the Knife starts to take shape. What looks good on paper does not always feel good in the hand. Now, subtle ...

Red handled Spyderco's are not safe
Let me explain.I was just on "E-bay" under the Spyderco section. There is a red handled Dragonfly listed with a live Blade. There is also an older Endura with Red enamuled handles.
I like the concept of the Red FRN handles on the trainer Delica and Endura models. The models listed on E-bay were older ...

Tom,
I used a brand new 80 grit belt and water cooled the blade. The top of the spine forward of the Spyderco hole was ground down so there is a "Step"just in front of the hole. The length of the blade is still the same. After completing the grinding with finer belts, the spine was satin finished with ...

Hi Guys,
I'm working on an Olisi Palad version of the Gunting. One will look like a closed version of this knife. It will be a "fixed" blade model because, as of yet, I do not make "Folders".
I also have a few models on paper that will function as a Yawara type tool.I will finish them and send them ...

Bram-new Gunting tapes?
Bram,
I've worn out the original 4 tape Gunting series. There was talk awhile back about a new set of tapes now that the Gunting has been out on the market .
With so many more Martial Artists and Policemen "playing" with the Gunting, I bet there are a variety of new technique interpetations ...

Pete,
I am a Leftie, but, I carry the Gunting on my right side. After attending one of Bram's seminars, I have practiced using the Gunting right handed. This leaves your strong hand for checking , passing or punching.
You can also get a Skunkworks lefthanded Kydex sheath and work all the techniques ...
