Well I have a SE Endura in ZDP and a few of the teeth have chipped, but I'm not really worried about the blade breaking off or anything. Someone with a ZDP Caly could probably better answer your question...

Wow, well it seems like a pretty strong vote for the Caly already! I'll probably place the order tomorrow sometime. Probably will pick it up in VG-10 even though I found it in ZDP for only $10 more like Pneumothorax mentioned.

Caly 3 or Delica?

Hey guys! Been a while since I've posted on here.

Well I started a new job doing HVAC work at a VA hospital and they are pretty serious about their "no weapons" policy. Unfortunately that means I can't carry any of my Spydercos because they all exceed the 3" limit on blade length. (Apparently in ...

One thing about the "Bug" that I didn't notice for a long time is that the "mouth" is shaped like the end view of a Sharpmaker stone.

I noticed that too when I got my hat. The spider is big enough for me to see that detail on there; I hadn't really looked at the logo on the top of the ...

Spyderco Symbol?

I have a question about spyderco's symbol :spyder: .

Why does it look like a crab or a tick? I just got my military gray hat (really awesome hat btw), and people are like why is there a tick/crab on your hat, then I have to show them the back where it says Spyderco.

I have never really paid that ...

Thanks JBE! I have another question. When sharpening SE do you move the blade down and pull it toward you sharpening the whole blade in one swipe/pass? I was under the impression the you sharpened each scallop individually with the SM.

Do all Sharp Makers come with a DVD? It doesn't list it as a included item.

EDIT: Yes, it does list the DVD as an included item.

New knife and SM question

Hello all, I am on the verge of buying a ZDP Endura, then I started thinking that I ought to give a SE a try. But I would have to get a SM or a profile stone to sharpen the serations. So I have a few questions:

1 Do you have to worry about forming and removing a burr when sharpening serrations?

2 ...

Let me jump in here and ask a quick question. How easy is it to sharpen SE knives with the sharpmaker? I only have PE knives, and I can get them crazy shrp on my bench stones. I have thought about a SE knife, but I don't have a way to sharpen them.

Question over, sorry for hijacking your thread. :o

Most straight razors use some type of carbon steel, but I'm not sure what kind as I don't know much aboput carbon steel. Also most use a full hollow grind to collect the shaving cream and hair in the hollow.

Hope that answers your question!

Oh, I did shave with my millie once. ;)

If it was some type of texturized titanium though, then I could go for a metal handle lol. I just wouldn't be able to afford it! :p
