Re: Camping Craze

No trailer or RV, but I've been gradually working on stocking up the truck for impromptu camping. So far I have a pop up canopy, cooking set, 7 gallon aquatainer, skateboard & skate shoes, discgolf set, wool blankets, spare jackets hats & gloves, a few sleeping pads and sleeping bags, 3 person tent...

Re: Change my mind: the Shaman costs too much

The more you use a knife the more value it brings to you. It's changed my buying habits, to be sure. When the Police & Military were $125 and the Manix XL / Yojimbo 2 / Para 2 debuted at $99, I made more impulsive purchases. I still remember buying a ZDP189 Endura for about $75, which I had made ea...

Re: Should I try H1?

the answer to this question is always yes. however, i would agree that you should go with se h1. i think everyone needs a se h1 salt in their lives. i actually prefer h1 to lc200n because it's a real workhorse and people should try serrations more and get past this weird prejudice the knife communi...

Re: Change my mind: the Shaman costs too much

The Shaman is extremely well made. The example I owned, a zwear, was as flawless as I've seen from a production knife. I could find no fault with it. Smoothest compression lock I've ever tried, and beautifully contoured scales you hardly ever see on folders. I decided not to keep it because there we...

Re: Should I try H1?

In PE I would go LC200N hands down.

In SE its more of a toss up, depends on your priorities.

The LC200N SE knives have superior geometry being full flat ground, but that's the only advantage they have. H1 matches or exceeds SE LC200N's performance in all aspects.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

This thing is actually on its way to become my main EDC... Endura cutting edge, compact package, great handle, no problem to choke up on the edge if I want to, linerlock is the best locl type in many regards (actual operation in any circumstance) anyway, tall, not too fat blade, perfect fit and fin...

Re: Will there be a DLC Military with coated liners?

Found one for sale on ebay. blacked out hardware & lanyard tube, black rounded clip, and the new style pivot pin. So they must be out at regular retailers by now.

Well I'll be keeping an eye out. Might email some companies this week and see if they have any.

Re: Small Folders Okay Gor Self Defense?

Last time I had a knife pulled on me, it was small, maybe a 2.5 - 3" blade.

I had the upper hand. I had my 5" Street Bowie on me.

What did I do?

Kept my distance and dialed 911, then went to court the next day to file a restraining order.

I'm good on ever getting into a knife fight.

Re: Backspacers: What are your thoughts? yea or nay: explain

I like having a backspacer because if a knife is loose in my backpack there is less chance something dings the edge. The ones with thick jimping look silly to me though.

Re: Military sprint run with a different handle? :O

Why ruin a great handle when the PM2 already exists? Vivi! I am surprised YOU are asking this... ;) - short blade on the PM2 ?! I think just making the handle shorter at the end would not really change the feel in hand - very rarely people will grab (especially the long) Millie that far back ...
