Re: Watches

still debating what to get.

I like the features and price of this, but would like something with a slightly slimmer face.

Slowly on the corners. Did you watch the instruction video?

I honestly glanced over it. I’ll go back and check out the part on SE’s. Thanks again!

Re: About that food prep ...

If you call yourself a knife geek and you don’t own a Japanese laser then you need to get one. This ain’t even a super expensive knife but it is R2/Super Gold and the grind is crazy thin. I can’t do this with any folder I own. https://i.imgur.com/eJTnLJr.mp4 Ok now I want to pick the sharpest folde...

Re: Salt Series without washers - Internal FRN wear?

I have salts in the 10-15 year old range that still work fine, and there are plenty of Endura 1-3's still in use out there. I wouldn't worry.

Re: Who has the S35VN Tenacious LW? Does it get overlooked and if,WHY?!

Better late than never, my friend :D I dug up the review I posted in 2008...sadly the pictures are gone and the computer they're stored on isn't plugged up, but they were mostly comparison shots between the Military and Tenacious. My local knife store received a new Spyderco shipment recently so I p...

Huge Millie fan. Swapped scales on one of mine today.

That looks good! Makes me want to look into some custom scales for mine. Do you know if the maker does that style in green?

Re: My favorite handle design

I'd like to see them bring this back as a CBBL, and see if there's anything they could tweak to make it fold up a bit slimmer. It has a very nice handle. I used to have one of these and I agree with everything you wrote. I ended up selling mine in favor of keeping my C95 Manix because I didn't like ...

Re: Serrated edge fans

Am I seeing that h1 works better job with serrations than vg-10? I never thought when I bought my first knife as an adult, my spyderco ambitious, I’d fall down this rabbit hole. Yes. Better edge holding, better corrosion resistance, and less likely to chip. The only thing VG10 has over SE H1 is the...

Re: Pound for pound the highest performing Spyderco is...

Always wanted to like the LB and MB, but I can't get a good grip on them during use or when trying to open them one handed. The Spin has a much better handle for me. It's definitely not a "draw it into action" knife, it couldn't be a high paced work knife. For that I'd go with an ARK or Dragonfly. ...

I use the same method on them as my others. Generous drop of mineral oil in the pivot, tap the bottom of the handle until the oil penetrates both sides of the pivot, cycle the action a few times then wipe off any excess oil.

Re: Cutleryshoppe Exclusive Native Chief, DLC CTS-XHP, Orange G10

They recently changed the maximum purchase to 4 units. I guess the sales are not going as anticipated. It makes me a little sad. It's a beautiful large knife. But I guess long blades are harder to be sold than the sub 3,5in ones. Unless there's some exotic steel involved. I would have bought one if...

Re: What knives in your collection keep wow-ing you?

I've been carrying my Military the past few days. While I prefer the Police and Chief to it in many ways, carrying it has reminded me just how wonderful the ergonomics are. I will say for IWB carry I like how tip down draws. I may swap one of my Pacific Salts to tip down so I have two in my rotation...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Military was used to hack away some briars growing across some hiking trails so the kiddos didn't run into them. I recieved some excellent advice here on the forum and invested in a few Z-Cuts. Awesome kitchen knives!! The serrated one is a little beast. So good for slicing up vegetables etc. the Bo...

Re: Long Blade Folder Guys ... what you cutting?????

How did a thread asking why people carry big knives turn into a thread telling people not to suggest other people carry big knives? :p :D it seemed like people were getting really defensive about their own preferences and at least implying that smaller blades were not a good choice. i will say, at ...
