Re: Favorite small spyderco

Well Sal asked for some elaboration, so here's why I chose a Pacific Salt. First of all I can't recall ever being in a situation where someone seemed offended at the size of my knife. So that isn't something I need to take into consideration where I live. My knife size choices come down solely to my...

Re: Ack! Both Pac Salt 2 SE variants are on sale. Help me decide!

BTW I've written on both versions a good bit. It's my favorite model. Do you find the lack of washers makes opening and closing the Pac Salt get stiffer and more difficult over time? And if so, do you tear and down and clean it up? No, they all break in to be quite smooth. I've noticed gen 1 having...

H1 vs LC200N

How do you feel about H1 vs LC200N? What experiences are you drawing on to come to your conclusions? Would either steel work in an EDC capacity for you, or do you find they have limitations that make you avoid carrying them? -------------------------------------------- I was excited when LC200N was ...

somehow I don't have this issue. I think carrying IWB or in a side leg pocket hells, which is where my knives often are. even my thin running shorts that carry my roughly textured Yojumbo IWB are fine. somehow I don't have this issue. me neither. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Ok, folks, that kills my theory that knife hol...

Re: Ack! Both Pac Salt 2 SE variants are on sale. Help me decide!

H1's toughness is useful beyond prying (which it can handle). it allows to to hold thin edges quite well. my ~10dps aqua salt has batoned wood for something like 12 years now with no chips or rolls. edit: specifically regarding the SE versions, I've never seen H1 SE chip and fracture during reprofil...

BTW I've written on both versions a good bit. It's my favorite model. https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=90089 - here I write about experiments in sharpening H1 at different grits to extend the edge holding abilities https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=87226&p=1439453&...

Re: Ack! Both Pac Salt 2 SE variants are on sale. Help me decide!

H1 will be tougher. LC200N has better slicing geometry, and weighs less. In my experience comparing SE H1 to SE LC, LC doesn't do anything better besides beable to be FFG. H1 Pacififc Salt 2's tend to have better pivot tolerances. I've yet to buy an LC Pacific that can have no side to side play and ...

Any reason you use your H1 much? Smoother pivot, less play, I like the colors b...
