Re: Community Sharpening Journal

This is my current project: https://i.imgur.com/zp6On8O.jpg Got my buddy a Cara Cara a while back. Today is going to be its first sharpening. PE area is dull and chipped, so is the tip. Serrations are in pretty good shape. Plan to use my DMT stones freehand on the PE part, then once the damage is re...

Re: Police 4 LW

I believe the LW is 3.9oz or 4.1oz, so about a half ounce weight reduction.

Went to a few shops trying to buy one in person but they didn't have them in yet. Grabbed a Bow River instead

Re: oH tHe TiP iS ToO FrAGilE

 Those slightly reinforced tips are plenty pointy enough. What do you actually do with a tip that thin? Not much. How many slivers do you get? I modded the tip on my Dyad Jr. I like slicey, but the Endela slices just fine at its thickness. On the other hand, I really dislike the low grind...

Re: Province edge angle

I put a thin convex edge on my Scrapyard Dofather, and it chops much better now.

It's fun chopping with a knife sharp enough to shave with.

Re: oH tHe TiP iS ToO FrAGilE

I miss the old pointy tips. I get sick of regrinding them to a thinner profile. If you never pry with your knives there's very little to worry about.

Re: How low do you go?

Double stuffs are a little undersized for serious reprofiling. If you owned one I could see trying it out, but it's not something I'd buy specifically for the job. It's meant more as a field sharpener.

Thanks for the nice words everyone. I feel very honored to have Spyderco produce this design! It is indeed a linerless knife and was designed to have the rustproof qualities of other lockback Salt knives.
It looks well designed Lance. Excited to give it a try.

C95. Never thought it'd get cut so soon. The 2 XL is nice but the original was nice in a different way.

Re: Spyderco 2019 Reveal Volume 3 Per Knife Center

I do have to admit the siren looks sweet. very functional and a good steel. why i wont get one is because of the lock and blade size. if they make a siren 2 with a better lock (anything not backlock) and a 3" blade, i would own one and it would be absolutely incredible. just one salt that is not a ...

Re: Police 4 LW

Siren could be another 3 or 4 months out. Police should be available any day. I don't think the Police is any shorter in the pocket compared to the Military, but I don't have a Military handy to compare to. I still think IWB at 3-4 o clock is perfect for situations where a clipped folder feels too b...

Re: Knife opened in my pocket.

Sorry this happened to you. I had a Millie open up in my pocket too. Glad you noticed it before it had a chance to cut you! I do have to point out the irony. Seems 2019 is the year of knives opening in pockets. For years I've talked about how I don't trust detent locks, and have endured a lot of "us...

Re: New releases on the App

Looks good. I'll have to handle it to make sure the grip fits my hands, but I like the look of it! Another pic with stats from Spyderco. https://i.imgur.com/tT1NZJl.jpg Looks like the grip is about 4" or so. Might work, might not, but I think it will. I'm just a slight bit concerned my pinky might ...
