I sure would like to see this pan out in the future. Just the idea of it gives me goose bumps.

Give a thought Mick, please.

I feel better now that all is right in my "knife world."

Sal and Mick remain class acts producing great products that excell at thier intended roles.

Thanks Mick for chiming in. It's the involvement that we appreciate.

Mick, I have a lot of respect for and for Sal: You are both heavily involved with your end line users. That is a rare quality these days.
However, I fail to see where Sal spoke poorly about Strider. I assume this is because I have a different point of view than you do. Oh well, that's life.

I agree that the only Strider influenced design that I would like to see incorporated by Spyderco is the hell-for-stout pivot bolt. O.K., the tiger-striped blades are way cool as well. If I could have those features added to my Manix I'd probably never buy another knife again. As it stands I think t...

It sounds like your first 2 issues are strictly cosmetic and the 3rd can be fixed by you. What you need to ask yourself is "Can I live with these cosmetic defects?" I'm sure SFO will replace your knife if you decide to return it. My Chinook has a slightly asymmetrical swedge grind but I ha...

Sal,
I'm very interested as I have a Native III on my "to buy" list but having to pay MSRP is a deal breaker. I realize the SFO has to do this but I'm just not willing to pay that kind of up-charge. This is why I've never joined the rally-cries for special runs in the past.

Pachucks, I had a new clip built for my Chinook by Reese Weiland. It looks like the clip found on the L'il Temperance Prototype. It's made from thick Ti and the knife's tapped for tip-up carry, left or right. He does great work but he's usually very back-logged. It was a couple of months before he c...

1. Traction notches on the spine of my Endura and my L'il Temperance.
2. I had a new clip built for my Chinook. Now it's tip-up left or right.
3. All my clips get covered with grip tape.

No amount of squeezing in any direction will unlock the compresion lock. Only by pushing sideways on the lock tab will it release. Since it is recessed this is nearly impossible to do accidentaly. Further more, the lock gets tighter under downward pressure on the blade, so releasing it during use is...

I just got a L'il Temperance and it has the eccentric pivot feature so any future wear can be adjusted for. The stop pin also has a flat spot that the locking bar rides against. This should virtually eliminate any wear to the top of the lock bar.

I'll vote for both! A Ryan model would ROCK, just stick to a useful blade style. A traveling MBC class would also be great!
