Couple things. The Vesuvius is the first Spydie that has been truly disappointing to me. But, can understand why others like it so well. Since I much prefer tip up, am concerned to learn it may not stay closed in that position. Thankfully, mine has the ability to choose.

Very heavy stuff indeed. Somehow this reminds me of the fact that for going on 35-36 years, have been considering getting a tattoo. While I was in Vietnam, I decided to do so. Strangely enough, it was a brief Latin phrase. Well, by the time I got home -- had found the phrase in a book I was reading ...

Might as well be either wrong -- or right -- twice in the same set of threads. At least if I'm wrong, the hooraws and laughter ought to impress the facts into my mind enough for my poor memory to hang onto.
In a new/relatively new lockback, I don't think vertical bladeplay is at all good. Depending ...

Jeff, I may have this backwards, but don't think so. In the greater scope of lockbacks, I believe a tiny bit of side-to-side play can eventually be expected. Up and down play, particularly early in the knife's life is a more serious problem. If I'm totally bassackwards, would appreciate learning so ...

Just to flesh out the question -- tho I do recall Sal saying around the first of next year for the appearance of the diamond sleeves -- will there be a completely new model containing both the two grades of ceramic and the diamond sleeves; and, will the sleeves be sold as a separate item, to enable ...

Pretty persuasive guys. Had I not just seen the pictures of the new models soon to be out -- or already out in the case of the Meerkat -- I might have thought about getting one. But, I have enough big knives, and am always carrying my Sebenza, and usually the Wegner or my CRKT Apache. It is possible ...

I know, I know. I already posted once. That was more to vote against a Military, than to propose another knife.
So, in looking thru some -- not all -- the posts since mine, I sure hope that if another forum knife is done that it is something fairly mainstream. In my mind, that would certainly rule ...

Thanks, Sword and Shield. It is a whittler. Appreciate that info.
Gatekeeper. I expect I am going to buy one Benchmade in the near future. Will either get the 710, which I think is going to be one of the defining knives of the tactical folder group in history, or the Griptilian, and be a bit cheap ...

Welcome to the forum, brian12856@aol.com.
I guess because hawkbills aren't particularly wonderful in my mind, I haven't paid much attention at all to them. For instance, I don't know the difference between the Merlin and the Harpy. Knife Center sells a plain-edged Merlin for $52, with an FRN handle ...
