earthworm, I picked up on your Bodyguard as being your favorite piece. There are reasons why this J frame is your EDC. Is it size? Weight? Confidense instilling? Important questions; because your options of G-19 or '92 varients are very different from your fave. Many concealled EDC handgun bearers h...

Now the rest of the story.... TTO finally confessed that the whole story was made up. He doesn't seem to feel much regret for his scam; moreover, Painting Sypderco in a negative light caused him no concern. Here's the confession: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18040...

Here's a quick overview of TTO's story elements that point to fabrication. The attack ocurred late on Dec. 5th, by the 7th, he's clear of all legal issues, out of the hospital and able to keyboard his story. If his bicep was completely severed, how did he manage to walk out of the hospital within tw...

Mr. Janich, When you speak of the 'sequel' Advanced Fighting Folders tape; does that infer that the frist video would be considered 'vol 1'? Or more simply put... Do the yet to be released new tapes contain overlap information from the frist video tape? BTW- when the author provides clear, concise, ...

Can Almite be tooled or filed?

I'd like to tool or file the Almite handles on my Ayoob. Does anyone know how well Almite will take to tooling?

Know any cutomizer that does this kind of work?

TIA,

Seth

Jim- In your set-up, How would you rate the imprint of the neck rig againest your shrit? Does a tie cover the imprint, or do you need a loose fitting shirt?

I like your idea, it's ideal for dress wear.

Bidrac- This idea may not be practical for you, but since my lady is a good seamtress, it's worked out well for me. I've had her make sub pockets just for the gunting. These pockets are like those that are built into some levi's, but customed fitted for the G and made from studier material. The righ...

In reference to Jim's and SKS " get off the tracks" movement to evade: One of the best videos stressing the movement off the centerline of attack is Gunsite's Edged Weapons II. It demonstrates knife attackers charging/ambushing officers and how footwork and handwork can work together to cl...

Forget the Black Gunting... Get the trainer

Just need to vent a little.. In the last week, I've come across two folks who have aquired Guntings, and then proceed to cut themselves while attempting non-guided or instructed kin-ops. One claimed the knife was "inherently dangerous", the other cut himself five or six times before becomi...

With all the variables that occur in a defensive sitution, I've always believed it was diffucult to codify a specific range of edge weapon danger(or safety). Abilities and skills of the combatants is but one factor, terrain and enviroment another; all of which combine to make reaction time/attack ra...

This is just my impression, So I don't know if there was design intent here or not, but here goes: When working-out withing the Gunting Drone, during Kinetic Openings, I've noted that good Kin-Ops are dependant on a few factors. The 'Strike Thru' motion is important. If the blade was longer, the geo...

Friction tape comes in many grits. Some of the skateboard stuff is almost like coarse sandpaper, the stuff meant for stairs can be found smoother. The key is how much tape is applied to the handles. It will take some testing, but use just enough to prevent slippage. You may not have to cover the ent...

John,

PNP 4.0 (the data format that drives the new BF) software has had some bug reports with old broswers versions. I'm using IE 5.0 off Win2K with no problems. Also, Netscape 5.0 off a Mac is OK. You may hve to upgrade your IE or Netscape to the latest version.

here's My take on the Ayoob: It's a very slim and low profile knife. When I'm in my dress slacks, it rides IWB, near the cell phone, It's never been noticed in the staff meetings. Once your used to it, the opening style causes no problems; you feel the lockup. It's a MBC knife so the lock a has a hi...
