Japanese Knife Forums/Resources
I've spent the past several evenings browsing around checking out Japanese High Carbon Knives online. Of course I know absolutely nothing about them and I haven't found any dedicated forums or sub-forums either. I'm interested in Kitchen Knives but probably more so in Field/Work knives (not so inter...

I also like the black handle and the bronzed wire clip, which is MUCH more discreet than a chunk of stainless steel poking out of my pocket. Ding, Ding, Ding!!! I can certainly understand why someone would appreciate a nice hunk of something sticking out of their pocket for ease of deployment purpo...

I've searched the forum but couldn't find any pics of the clip on this guy.

Agreed. +1 I think some of Spyderco's success is due to the amount of new models and variety in the lineup. Some might not be popular or might not sell that well because of the price tag, but the fresh design innovation and dedication to providing new content keeps people coming back. There isn't an...

Dodo Lock - Determining Good & Bad
So the pendulum has swung back over to the Dodo (today) ;) I know it would be best to have your hands on one and apply some pressure to spine (if someone wants to expound on this, please do) but w/ the secondary markets, getting your hands on the knife prior to purchase isn't usually an option. Is t...

Yojimbo/Dodo Availability
Say someone was to want a Yojimbo or a Dodo in new condition but that person spent several days trying to track one down :) What reputable online dealer would you point said person to?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Disadvantages of the wave?
I've been playing around w/ the old zip tie on my Caly III the past couple days and have been thinking I should pick up a waved Delica or Endura. Are there any disadvantages to a waved version vs. a non-waved model? Specifically, I'm wondering if opening the good old fashioned way (via the Spydie Ho...

I guess a statement and an implicit question thrown in. I like the wireclips and I'm looking for a larger knife than the Caly III - those two shapes are good examples of what I'm looking for. The P'kal comes w/ a wire clip, the Civillian doesn't. Wondering which other spydercos that fit that profile...

Another fan of the low-riding wire clips. I wish they were all heat treated like the caly 3. Indeed, the heat treating gives it a nice patina that heps it blend in very well. I seem to notice alot of regular clips but I like to think not alot of people notice my heat treated wireclip :) I don't car...

I really really like the deep pocket wireclip on my Caly III Which Spydercos have wireclips or are easily converted? Caly III, UK Pen Knife, P'kal, Assist, D'Allara, Native III, T-Mag, ??? Next knive shapes that appeals to me - P'Kal & Civillian. A little bigger, not necessarily something carrie...
