The Stretch II in FRN is one that I would be going for. Like many here, I would prefer a color that is more discreet than pink, orange, or similar for a knife that I would be using as an EDC.

Blue, Midnight or Navy (not Smurf-blue)
Grey, medium to dark

Coming in late on this thread, but count me in for a G10 Lava, skeleton-ized handles in preference with a darker color. I would prefer black or a dark navy blue rather than something like orange or yellow. Part of the charm of the Lava is that it can be more discreetly carried than others, and the d...

The main thing that would improve the Lava for EDC would be a handle material change. The weight of the Lava is one reason I don't carry mine more often. My preference would be for a darker color, either G10, Micarta, or FRN. I would go for any of them. Ideally, whatever handle material is chosen it...

Ah yes, I guess I should just accept the inevitability of the nature of a user with an SS handle. I guess the Lava isn't going anywhere fast so I'll hold off on getting a safe queen for now. In the event that I wanted to clean my user up, is there a safe and effective product out there to take out ...

Let's see -- G10 D'fly, Urban, and now hints about Lave BMP and BGP (whatever these mean). Sight unseen these all start the heart pumping with anticipation.

I have the SS versions of the D'fly and Lava now, so I'm thinking that what's coming will be on the list of must-have's

One word of warning, though. The newest of my Al Mars was made before Al passed away. I have heard that the company is no longer using the same maker in Seki that they used to, so my experience may not carry through to new production. I have Al Mars both old and new. The company may be using anothe...

I do not care what the weight is- I WANT TWO ASAP. I have been waiting for this since the last G-10 Police was disco'd. Please Sal, make a dark blue one, pretty please. ( a dk blue Police & Rookie set would go over very, very well). +1 on a idea of a set of G10 Police and Rookie. I plan to do m...

I have largish hands also, but my Kiwi's are comfortable and secure. I don't find that the knife is dwarfed or cramped at all, so I wouldn't worrry on that score.

The Deacon is the forum's resident Kiwi expert, but I think I can provide some information. The Kiwi is a nice one, and with the choice of handle scales, can run the gamut from pretty to rustic. The double-choils lock that puppy in your hand so that it will not slip when your hands are wet, no matte...

The catalog, when it's released, might have a better estimate. Just realize that these are merely that, an estimate that the company is shooting for but that might slip according to the vageries of production.

My guess would be that the CF Kiwi would have the same bolster/scale pattern that most Kiwi's do. That is what I would prefer. The black and silver contrast would be sharp and crisp. Plus, the bolsters would protect the edges of the scales.

I've looked, and all the smaller Spydies (D'fly and smaller) either are right-hand only, or no clip at all. As far as modifying a D'fly for left hand, I would recommend checking with STR. He's done a lot of work on various knives and clip modifications. You can find him at his forum over on BladeFor...

Aside from the ballisong question, finding Spyderco in Oregon stores is difficult beyond the standard Delica/Endura lines. Since Benchmade, Kershaw, Gerber, CRKT, Al Mar, William Henry, and Lone Wolf are all 'local', those are the brands that most Oregon stores stock. Those you can find easily in st...

IIRC, Sal did say something to the effect that IF they changed the Millie locks, that there would be a time when they would be making both the liner lock and whatever might replace it. If you consider size as a factor, then I think the flagship models would be the Military and the Caly3. The Delica and Endura lines are better seen as the bread-n-butter of the mix that supports the experiments and refinements in the others.

IIRC, the D'flys come out of Japan, so VG10 or ZDP would be the options. I would think that VG10 would be the logical choice for a regular catalog item because the blades for the SS model would work with only a minor modification of the hole for the screwed pivot pin. It would be a easier, therefore...

Sal has mentioned two being discussed, if not planned/scheduled:

Goddard Jr w/ white or ivory micarta
JD Smith

If there might be more sprints beyond these, I would love to get a Rookie, preferably in micarta, G10, or even CF. Another would be one of the Jess Horn family.
