Nice arrowhead. Form, material and execution seem very nice.

Did you knap it yourself?

I'm no expert, but I remember reading once that you will never get a ceramic as sharp as a good steel.

Anyone know if this is true, and if so, is it because of limitations of the molecular level structure?

Thanks for the review, and I just want to add that I LOVE mine.

Some people have complained about the 'false edge' on the edge of the blade oposite that which is sharpened, but I find this beveled portion attractive.

Is there a reason that, for any of the steels that I looked at, the percentage of iron (Fe) is not shown? Was that an oversight, or are we simply expected to find the difference from 100%?

The first place I checked was New Graham, and then several others. All showed AUS-8, but I did not call and ask. I will have to do so.

Thank-you, folks, for your help.

You know, I just looked up the Dragonfly in the Spyderco product store, and they do NOT show it in VG-10, only in AUS-8. Surely Spyderco must lose sales by not keeping their catalogue up to date.

Thank-you, SSB, for pointing this out to me. I will find a retailer who has the VG-10 version in FRN ...

Thanks for the explaination, I appreciate it.

I think that I'd personally prefer black, but in order to get the VG-10, I'll go along with the white scales. I'm anxious to see it.

I own a crapload of flashlights, including several (6?) SureFires, but if you want an LED (as opposed to incandescent), then Fenix is the way to go, in my opinion. I LOVE each and every Fenix I own.

Absolutely yes for a clipless Kopa. Personally, I prefer Quince or Kokobolo.

Absolutely no for the FRN. I love fibre reinforced nylon for work knives and most any EDC, but not for this small gentleman's folder.

Thank-you, Sal, for asking.

Yes Paul, that's the Kopa that I recall. Thanks for showing us again.

It is a vast improvement, if still an imperfect solution for those who don't want the clip.

The colour of the before vs the after Cocobolo varies quite a bit. Can you tell me, which is closer to the actual wood colour? I'm ...

Boy, were you ever right about my not being pleased about the appearance of the Kopa without the clip! It looks like crap with that recess in the bolster. And, Spyderco used phillips head screws, instead of allen or torex heads. Seems chinzy, for such a nice knife.

I vaguely remember that someone ...

I love the look, size, feel, grind, fit and steel of this knife. I would prefer it without the clip (I think that I'll just remove it, and replace the screws), but it is a spectacular knife. Most definately my ...

So, are we guessing that it has nothing to do with the nature of the actual insert but, rather, the development (or embracing) of a newer adhesive?

I have also found that pinned scales sometimes crack at the pin. Glued just 'sounds' inferior, even though I'm sure that Spyderco has determined that ...

Kopa Question

I think that I have a simple question regarding the Kopas.

The first two issues, the Cocobolo and Black Micarta, seem to have the scale inserts pinned in place. The subsequent issues show no mechanical attachment.

I do not currently own a Kopa, but in deciding what variety will be my first, I was ...

WOW!!!

G-10, Wire Clip, Screwed Construction!

That knife is beautiful, and it really seems to fit a void in the Spyderco line-up.

If offered by Spyderco, in a high grade steel, I'm down for (4).
