Re: Hap40 Wharnie D'fly

Yes, ZDP or K390. Both would be swell. Actually... so would a VG10 one if it ever came out! Sorry for that bit of impatience. I hope I like it as much as I’m looking forward to it.

Heal quickly, bro! That’s right crappy to hear. Cool about the Dfly, though.

Re: Spyderco: Your factory edges are sharp!

Yes, they usually are very sharp. Only if the edge angle is not to my liking do I sharpen them myself right off the bat.

Thank you, bros. :) I'm not a big celebrator of birthdays anymore. Happy to be another year older, but not so much the older part. ;)

Re: Improvement suggestions for your favorite Spyderco knives?

I'd throw some K390 on a wharncliffe Delica, and some goldenrod yellow scales.

Reaaly nice job. Looks beautiful. My Li'l Native would benefit from that treatment. The corners are too blocky and harsh.

I wonder how hard it would be to stipple the ramp and choil?

Interesting idea. Not hard with a Dremel and diamond bit.

Needs jimping. My thumb just wants to slide down the slope.

Re: Lil’ Native lockback

The back lock actually has a lanyard hole, which all small knives need. I like a fob, to lengthen the grip a tad. Really needs jimping bad. Solid clip is nice. I’m fine with wire clips, but only on the small knives. It really is a nice, well made knife.

Good luck with your new job.

It looks like there’s less blade now, or ground away. They look completely different.

I think you guys are misunderstanding. A couple of weeks for the VG10 one. Doesn't say HAP 40.

.. I'm glad I live in a world where this question is only hypothetical..

Exactly, bro, but if I had to choose today, it would be Delica wharncliffe PE and Pacific Salt SE. Both serious cutting machines that are unequaled.

@ Baron Mind - If you "couldn't resist a version with upgraded steel", you'll be happy to know ZDP-189 has long since been made and available on the Dragonfly 2.

u.w.

Would be nice on a wharnie Delica and Dfly, though.

Re: Reverse S Dragonfly?

I think you are right that a wharnie D’fly will do most of what a reverse s would. I think the two blade shapes are more similar to each other in use than either is to a traditional blade shape. Each will still have certain advantages over the other though. I tend to do a lot of scoring cuts with t...

Re: Dragonfly Wharncliffe

The Dfly will have better ergos, and the clip is on the proper end. The blade feels a tad too low or something on the Tuff Lite, to me.
