Unlike the Q model, which was laser cut from a solid blade, the blade of the S is metal injection molded, so they didn't offer a variety of designs, as it would be prohibitively expensive to make a new mold for each design. It was offered with black handles (like the one pictured) as well as silver...

It sure looks like it. When was it made? I have the original Q and the older R. Also very nice.

Gunting authenticity Q

Hi there, long time!

Is there anybody who can tell if this knife is a genuine Spyderco Gunting? To my eyes it looks very suspicious. The grinds on my own Gunting don't look this way and the clip is simply wrong.

What Byrd is this??

I've acquired this knife on a swedish auction site. Unfortunately, I am not sure what model it is. Any ideas?

Ehm, sorry to disappoint you guys: EKA Swede 88. However, when it comes to Spydies it's a tie between grey Caly Jr and Military, both PE.

Hi Deacon. I have a PS Black Hawk and a PS Renegade, both made in Seki City, Japan. The blade steel is Gin-1 (G2). I believe there was a sprint run a couple of years ago.

OK, I realize you're much more informed than I am, Titus. I thought G2 was in the same category as 440C. Well, never mind, the G2 Endura is still tempting :)

Thanks guys. I think I'll bit on that E. I realize the blade steel is not up to pair with the current top of the line steels. However, I kind of enjoy sharpening ;) Hey 224477 how are you doing. Hi Clay, how are you, long time!! You're right, I've been busy this year. Most of my spare time is spent on fishing and then there were some private issues. Thanks for the advice, I think I'll grab that Endura. It's still only $20. What's your current favorite? I acquired a NIB EKA Swede 88 the othe...

That was my thougts also. I don't own an Endura yet as it is. Maybe I should clarify this issue. In order to import an Endura from US, I'd have to pay something like $ 120 at least!

OK, I am a collector. However, I didn't know there were so many made. The handle is black indeed. I just thought that the price was maybe reasonable?

Thanks,
