Thanx very much for the intructions David   However how on earth do I know if I hit the edge at the proper angle? Are there any tricks maybe to hold the blade at 20 degrees? I would very much like to know ;) Hi, arend, I hold my 701 stones against my 204 stones in their 204 s...

Hi, carrot,

I use my Yin or Yang every day. They're the best kitchen knives I've ever used. If you want to start out with just one, I'd recommend the Yang. It's easier to make straight up and down slices through thick substrates with the Yang. Later,

Hi, everyone,

I just got a Poliwog today. This thing is awesome! You won't realize how massive and hefty it is until you hold one. The finger grooves make a really firm, comfortable grip. I think this is my favorite Spyderco. Until my next purchase. Later,

Hi, dale,

For discreet SD carry, I recommend the CF Harpy. I think the pink Delica is too garish. The elegant high-gloss finish of the CF scales would blend better with the textured leather of a Louis Vuitton or Gucci purse. Also, the Harpy is an amazing cutter. Later,

I got my blue Yojimbo and CF Harpy from STP. But the real score was the Bill's Khakis pants. I got nine pair. I'll never have to buy pants again. These are the best pants ever. Later,

The Salt needs to be exchanged. The lock doesn't line up flush with the spine of the knife. Hi, everyone, Is a non-flush back lock an exchangeable defect? I have two back lock Spydercos, a C41 Native SE and a CF Harpy SE. Neither of their locks are flush with the spine of the blade or the scales. T...

Hi, David, This is just the thread I was looking for. I've been sharpening my SE knives on the corners of the 204 stones as demonstrated in the Sharpmaker DVD. I've been drawing all of the serrations across the length of the blade in one motion. Is it preferred to sharpen each serration one at a tim...

Spyderco intentionally leaves them a little rough so your thumb doesnt slide off as you're opening it. Your description makes it sounds like its a little more than just rough though? The Yojimbo is a nice knife. I carried mine for a while but then the waved Endura came along and it got bumped. Funn...

Using the 701 profile stones reduces rounding of the teeth on the serrations. Using the SM method you round the teeth which reduces the aggressiveness of the serrations. Sharpening with the 701's is extremely easy and puts a superior edge on serrations from my experience. I'd also use the 3 to 1 me...

Hi, everyone, I got a blue Yojimbo a little while ago. It's basically a handheld guillotine blade. I'd hate to be on the angry end of this one. I noticed that the thumb hole on mine isn't perfectly circular. It's kind of lumpy around the edges. Does anyone else see this on theirs? It doesn't affect ...

Hi, everyone, This is a fascinating post. As the 16th century Swiss alchemist Paracelsus said, dose makes the venom. I started smoking when I was 28. I'm 41 now. I smoke about a pack a week. I have no intentions of quitting. My two or three daily cigarettes are very rich and enjoyable times. As Robi...

Hi, spyderdog. I got a CF Harpy SE a few weeks ago. I've carried it every day since I got it. I see some minor chipping and flaking of the finish around the screws, but it doesn't bother me at all. I used to think that hawkbills were a little psycho. Then I saw an incredible deal on the Internet for...

I'm down with the Yang and the C41 Native. But my vote among the Spydercos I have so far is the SS ATR SE. That thing is a monster. It's got heft, a ball-bearing smooth action, locks up like a bear trap, and slices through Wolverine's claws. (OK, I haven't tried that yet.) And I just got mine NIB at...

Hi, everyone, The C41 Native is the first Spyderco I got, back in March. I've since gotten seven more Spydercos. I could've been a one man focus group for the C41. sal nailed all the reasons why I got it: no hump, choil, cool grind lines. I don't feel fully dressed until the C41 is in my pocket. Lat...

My suggestion is the Viele 2. I just got one. It's nothing less than a frickin' work of art. The action feels like it's turning on ball bearings. The Micarta on one side and G10 on the other make the piece look classic and tactical at the same time. The trefoil and three small holes in the blade are...
