Re: Martial Arts Experiences Discussion Thread

Wow, this thread has been going on a long time and never checked in. My share is very brief. I wrestled in HS and two years in Division III in college. I missed organized sport and athletics and took Tae Kwon Do classes in my hometown. Those classes were with an established school, lots of students,...

I've bought 4 Mora knives and they work very well. I bought three of the basic models and also a Kansbol.

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

I've been wanting to buy a birthday gun but not much seems to be in stock. I stopped by a Fleet Farm and looked at a P365 and it is too small for me. I'd like to get the XL version.

Re: Slide cut for reflex sight

I've seen XD 10mm with slide cuts and Vortex red dots included on sale. I assume getting an existing slide cut behemoth would be pricey, but I don't know for sure. I have read adverts of places you can mail the slide to.

Re: I got my new camping & hiking knife today

Cool. I was researching getting a new camp knife but backed off from the higher cost of the ESEE knives. I ended p buying a couple Mora knives, the Kansbol and the standard Companion.

I ran across SMOKO a few months ago and really enjoyed it. The song came up after I learned about the Cosmic Psychos. https://youtu.be/Q954LxEzyY8

Re: What would you like to see next from Byrd?

It is so freaking nice having Sal 's comments here. I was raring to buy a "D2" knife from WE and backed off. And, AND, how did I miss the announcement of the Bow River?! I've been spending lots of time researching fixed blades for camping/bushcraft and now I know what to get. I can add a S...

Thanks for the photos. I've not logged into the forum in a long while and saw the link off the Facebook page. I forgot the Amsterdam meet was coming up.

Re: Crossbreed IWB Horsehide holster

I ended up on the mail list of Greg Ellifritz who runs a training school, Active Response Training, in Ohio. I have never used a hybrid holster but he recommends against them. As a trainer he sees a lot of gear that works or doesn't so I presume he speaks from experience. He this warning about them:...

I remember hearing about Joey Dunlop dying. I'd just started paying attention to motorcycle racing and caught something on SPEED TV or another sport channel and being amazed at what he was doing.

Wow. I assume booked ferries means there's no way you'd find a place to stay. Unless island residents rent tent space in their yard.

I do love watching those races. I used to daydream about traveling there and hanging out alongside the course.
