I had a similar problem with a Lava. I called Spyderco and they said to send it in for inspection. They sent me back a new replacement. You may wish to call Spyderco CS.

If You Own Both a Slysz Techno and a Slysz Bowie ...
I would like to know your opinion of how the Bowie compares to the Techno. I consider the Techno one of the best knives I've ever owned regardless of price. I don't own a Bowie, but I'm considering buying one.

I would think that a waved serrated Matriarch would be an ideal SD knife for the untrained citizen. Easy to conceal, light, easy to open and doesn't take much skill to deploy into a assailant or yourself. I've been EDCing my Zulu for a few months now and it does slicing chores amazingly well. I've attempted to tighten the pivot in order to create a slower, more controlled opening and closing of the blade, but no matter how much I tighten the two pivot adjustment screws the tension remains the same.
