Re: Spyderco’s For Law Enforcement?
Hi Zatx, Thanx for your service. A cop with a conscience is always best. We make a coin I give to cops and soldiers. It says on one side: "I it is the responsibility of good to stop evil from hurting the innocent". Some times that takes more horsepower. (not you David). sal Love it, Sal! ...

Re: Spyderco’s For Law Enforcement?
Amen! I’d much rather not have a need to ever carry anything for the protection of others because there was no longer any violence in the world!
(Plus, I really didn’t take your post as argumentative in the slightest. No harm, no foul.)

Re: Spyderco’s For Law Enforcement?
Just want to say thank you for your service! For the cop stuff too ;) I'd suggest the Byrd Rescue 2 as a tag along to any knife... You're welcome ;) That Byrd Rescue 2 looks like a great suggestion! How do you carry when you're in uniform? I've carried several different ways because I've found that...

Spyderco’s For Law Enforcement?
I’m not just a pastor, I recently expanded my role as a police chaplain and become a sworn police officer as well. Being an older guy, I’ve learned to lean on those with experience to inform my tactics and decisions. That being said, if you’ve worked in the Law Enforcement or a similar field, what S...

Love them both. Smock gets more pocket time because of the fidget factor; its action is much smoother and more fun to flip.

Re: Tips for UF bench stone?
The large white nylon pencil erasers work the best on UF, F, and Medium stones. I've used the Spyderco stones for years and tried everything under the sun until I bought a three pack of these erasers at Target. It really only takes 3-5 SECONDS to clean off the stone by rubbing the eraser across its ...

Ikuchi strikes again! Though, just like Lance, this one was totally my fault!

Re: Removing Patina from K390 (Urban)
I'll just throw something out there... how about do the vinegar treatment a few more times and lightly sand it with a green scouring pad between applications? It's sometimes easier to take the patina to a really dark grey than to remove a light coat. If you don't like it after that, it can still be ...

Ripp's Garage Tech (RGT) Wire Replacement Clip. https://rippsgaragetech.com/collections/spyderco/products/spyderco-techno-3d-machined-pocket-clip?variant=19089754456126 There are lots of great options, but they can be pricey! Which finish is pictured on your Ikuchi ...and flat or contoured? Hard to...

I'm glad to see my guess was wrong and that the next round of these is already hitting retailers. I picked one up from SMKW, thanks for the tip!

Here's my suggestion... remove the lock bar cut out altogether. In its place, move the hole up to the lock bar area and fill that hole with a button release.

Pretty sure they are all gone until the next production run hits the shelves which should be (guesstimating) in the May/June timeframe.

Re: Ikuchi - The New Kiwi?
I think you guys might be taking my image of the Ikuchi as the modern Kiwi a little too literal. I didn't mean to paint a picture of it as replacing the actual Kiwi, mirroring it in blade shape, handle, bolsters, etc.; I understand in some ways they are vastly different. I was thinking more of it as...

Re: Ikuchi - The New Kiwi?
I don’t feel a flipper can ever be classed as a true gentlemans carry. A gents knife is largely defined by how it’s perceived by others. It fits the bill aesthetically but then you explosively deploy all that steel :/ Except the deployment of the Ikuchi is so fast (and quiet) that no one sees it; i...

Ikuchi - The New Kiwi?
The venerable Kiwi - compact, classy, gentleman's (gentlepersons) folder, available in a variety of configurations, a classic.
The Ikuchi - compact, elegant, modern flipper gentleperon's folder, an instant classic that needs many configurations!
Your thoughts?

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?
Anyone else notice these sharpening marks in certain lights? 2019-04-11 (1).jpg My example did not have these and, was in fact, the sharpest blade I've ever received from Taichung. The marks you see are unfortunate and are the result of using a new grinding wheel/belt. When they're new there are la...

You might want to add a "?" to your title... liable to create panic as people rush to click on the post in hopes of finding a smock in stock at DLT! :)

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?
You guys are welcome. As I think more about the problem, here is what I'm guessing. When they stamped the first run of those liners they probably had a few crack or outright break at the point highlighted above. Maybe it wasn't as extreme as this, it might have just been that someone saw how little ...
