Re: Spyderco NAND…

Now, with that out of the way, let me say something GOOD about this knife.

Once sharpened and honed, this is the Spyderco Straight Blade razor that many of us have wanted made for decades! The blade stock is incredibly thin and the knife is very light, yet balanced. This design is a home run!

Spyderco NAND…

I received the new Paul Alexander NAND today and I have to say this is a remarkable design for a light use knife! Unfortunately, Paul has been let down by the Italian production arm of Spyderco. Long time forum members know that I am a huge fan of Spyderco and do not disparage the company; before ...

Re: Spymyto is hot!

I own a ton of Spydercos and this $220 knife might be the highest quality knife out all of them except for the Drunken (minus the clip). Fit and finish is phenomenal. The smoothing of the blade spine and spydie hole is better than on any knife I’ve ever seen.

EDIT to add: I just saw my join ...

Re: Spymyto is hot!

Just received mine and it’s pretty darn nice. The blade doesn’t feel as thick as I feared. I removed the flipper tab within five minutes.

I also took sandpaper to the micarta scales and opened up the access to the lock bar.

Fun Fact: They are numbered. Mine is 1057 out of 2000.

Re: Spyderco’s For Law Enforcement?

Hi Zatx,

Thanx for your service. A cop with a conscience is always best. We make a coin I give to cops and soldiers. It says on one side: "I it is the responsibility of good to stop evil from hurting the innocent". Some times that takes more horsepower.

(not you David).

I hope that everyone lays down their arms.
Amen! I’d much rather not have a need to ever carry anything for the protection of others because there was no longer any violence in the world!

(Plus, I really didn’t take your post as argumentative in the slightest. No harm, no foul.)

Re: Spyderco’s For Law Enforcement?

Just want to say thank you for your service! For the cop stuff too ;)

I'd suggest the Byrd Rescue 2 as a tag along to any knife...

You're welcome ;) That Byrd Rescue 2 looks like a great suggestion!

Spyderco’s For Law Enforcement?

I’m not just a pastor, I recently expanded my role as a police chaplain and become a sworn police officer as well. Being an older guy, I’ve learned to lean on those with experience to inform my tactics and decisions. That being said, if you’ve worked in the Law Enforcement or a similar field, what ...

Love them both. Smock gets more pocket time because of the fidget factor; its action is much smoother and more fun to flip.

Re: Tips for UF bench stone?

The large white nylon pencil erasers work the best on UF, F, and Medium stones. I've used the Spyderco stones for years and tried everything under the sun until I bought a three pack of these erasers at Target. It really only takes 3-5 SECONDS to clean off the stone by rubbing the eraser across its ...

Re: Removing Patina from K390 (Urban)

I'll just throw something out there... how about do the vinegar treatment a few more times and lightly sand it with a green scouring pad between applications? It's sometimes easier to take the patina to a really dark grey than to remove a light coat. If you don't like it after that, it can still be ...
