Keep thing sharp!

My first Spyderco was a Mariner - it was a good working knife (and you could even pound in at odd mail sticking up).

Be aware that the Civilian is a provacativly designed knife that is only good for defensive work. In fact if you try to use it as a normal knife, you'll void the warranty.

I purchased a Lil' T when it first came out. I loved then and I love it now.

I was disappointed to hear that the blade is being discontinued.

Currently, my rotation of knives as my EDC are the Military, the Lil' T and the Spyderench (in that order).

Ti sounds good!

My everyday carry has reverted primarily to the Military. It's just been such a **** good knife.

This is followed by the Spderench and the Lil' Temperance (BTW I was disappointed to learn that it's been discontinued).

While I'm not in law enforcement, I think it depends on the situation. For a practical EDC, I carry the Military most. However, I had the opportunity to witness a trained under-cover officer use a Civilian to gain control of an out of hand individual. While I never carry a Civilian - one look and a ...

While it's true that cigarette smokers have a shorter lifespan than non-smokers, but there's a little known fact from the Surgeon General's report from the late sixties: Pipe Smokers live an average of two years longer than non-smokers. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! One way or the other, you p...

I'm very happy with the Glock 23, which is a .40 caliber, that I carry.

I thought the Glock 22 was a 9mm.

I've had a Lil' Temperance for a couple of years now and I still love it. I bounce back and forth between the Millie and my Lil' Temperance Leaf. I like the blade shape so much, I ended up buying the Lum Chinese Folder (which is longer than the Temperance). I live in Pennsylvania, but I work in New ...

Last year I broke my arm and followed that with surgery on my wrist. My strength is still not quite right. The Maddox was just what I needed. The performance was excellent, but I quickly learned to cut from the outside edge in. A couple of times, I figured I could cut a piece of steak in one shot, a...

I grew up in Brooklyn, during the fifties and sixties, and we all carried the same knife - the "K-55" from Solingen. Invariably, some of these blades had their actions filed down, to make it a good gravity knife. I used it once - the distinctive sound of the blade locking open gave me the t...
