even though it is a lock back, the clip and configuration make it a righty. Kopas are a great series, but not lefty friendly, though they could be. with the Dragonfly, it's less important to me than it used to be.

I'm with dman62. It's been smooth open and close one handed from Day1 out of the box. There is a just a little more resistance on the pull back than an axis, but not much. I view that as a positive. I don't ever see this knife's lock accidentally disengaging the way some have claimed axis locks are ...

Mine is easy to release.
I received mine from YCS this past Saturday and it's been relatively easy to open. Not stiff at all.

I assume you are talking about the Manix wrt the steel change.
Based on past experience, most of the pictures in the catalog or on the website are prototype pictures and the description will be more accurate than the pictures. The XHP Manix was pictured as Saber Ground, the description said FFG, it came FFG. A lot of times the Steel changes at the last minute,...

I don't think it's not a matter of the final design, it's just a description
I don't think it's a bad thing at all. People pre-order knives all of the time before the final design is unveiled. It seems like the same thing happens in any market where people have a chance to pre-purchase. the description was dark blue, the pic in the catalog isn't dark blue. Don't overthink t...

Sage 3 "Dark Blue" not really..
I preordered my Sage from one of the vendors offering them with a description that the scales were dark blue. And when the 2011 catalog came out, I was suprised to something other than dark blue. I'm not sure what shade you call it. But it isn't dark. I'd say just blue, not dark blue. Color isn't ne...

Going to be the fly in the ointment and say I think your dye job looks great however it turns out. But I prefer the foliage green to the black as I think it makes the knife look more distinctive. That said, I will probably buy two or three FRN dragonflies when they come out, assuming they are black.

If you are a southpaw like me, you have two choices when it comes to the Dragonfly, an two only. One is the G-10 which is the only choice if you want to clip. The other is the SS without the clip and either a lanyard or just pocket carry. The G-10 is an easy winner here. I want a pocket clip. The mi...

You may be correct if there is access on both sides to the bolt.
IIRC, The bolt lock is being engineered to be ambidexterous, so that shouldn't be a problem. Sal has also mentioned that the ball lock might not fit in the Sage, though I hope they find a way. Traditionally, bolt locks have been right handed only, though some may be lefty friendly for using the ind...

I guess I don't understand the advantage of a bolt lock over a ball lock
The ball lock is more ambidexterous, is it not? A caged or uncaged ball lock would seem preferable for left-handers or a standard mid-lock.

Figure he's already done that. September 10
That's the date showing up. But your knife will probably already be sold if you don't/haven't pre-ordered.STi wrote:As long it's under $100... I don't care just need time frame for this sweet little knife! We need Sal to give us a rough idea! :)

There is a September 10 date circulating among vendors
jabba359, Thanks. Yes that is what I kinda guessed by seeing it in that supplement catalog. I will certainly get one as I am a Dragonfly fan. On an observation, the clip should have been located more on the very end like the Urban. I really like the way the Urban is almost completely hidden when in...

"I prefer to do it like Captain Queeg"
Can't say I'm a fan of the ball lock, caged or un-caged. But, between the two, I'll take the caged version over the slippery, **** near impossible for my mildly arthritic hands to close un-caged version any day of the week. I can't see anyone being able to close an un-caged ball lock consistently, ...

With the talk of sprints runs going on lately how about a sprint of the Mouse. This is one Spyderco that is very hard to find.I wish a thousand times over I had not sold my back up Mouse after loosing the one I was carrying. Maybe one a little different like CF scales or even just a different color ...
