Problem with that is, that unless authorized by Spyderco, the ethics and legality of putting their trademark logo on something for resale is, at best dubious. That's a good point, Paul, I should have realized that. Well, I'm not handsome but I am fairly handy in the shop and there is 360 "shop...

Thanks Paul. It probably was a custom piece. I know Golden hasn't produced one but I was hoping someone here might have seen the one I did, somewhere. Maybe one of the artists on this forum that are always embellishing/customizing factory Spydies, the guys who just can't stand something that isn't u...

Spyderco Money Clips?

I wanted to get my brother something for Christmas that I swear I've seen before-a money clip. I did some searching online but didn't find anything. At some time in my foggy memory, somewhere, probably on some forum, I once saw a really nice silver money clip that had the Spyderco Spyder cut out of ...

At a Denver gun show today I saw something unusual...a knife seller had a Ti Salsa that had a SE Dodo blade fitted. He didn't know who did the conversion, but it was neat to behold.

I can only relay my experience, but I advise caution. I had my blue abalone Native, carried FRP, confiscated on a Seattle to Alaska cruise upon my initial boarding. The metal detector picked right up on it. They gave me a receipt and assurance that I would be rejoined at the cruise's debarkation in ...

If you have found a new one for a hundred, that seems like a price point where you can consider trying it out for a while-yet get your money back on the secondary market if it doesn't work for you. I concur with the opinion this blade needs to be used to appreciate it's versatility.

Just a FYI. I picked up a couple today. When comparing a sprint with an original issue, they are identical dimensionally EXCEPT in thickness. The original is somewhat thicker, and as such the sprint is not a secure fit in the original's kydex. It fits, but not secure enough to still be there after a...

That black coating is very stealthy & expensive. I've seen a demo: it appears shiny & non-black until the lights go out.

Ah, the Mattel IceMan. This model, now declassified, was designed for far more sinister covert adventures, but because of an Inquirer leak, became a hit with the birthday cake icing-applicee crowd. After intense study at the Firm, it was discovered that it's civilian popularity was due to the Bic li...

But an area that has interested me lately is how some owners have taken some models the...

Deacon: Thank you for that exposition. Being a registered collector (I am not) certainly has advantages, even considering the current delays in receiving due to the recent engraving issue. The main advantage, of course, is how a collector can sit back and smile as they wait for the mailman...and rea...

Deacon: On the topic of CC numbers, am I correct in believing that the collector's always get the first 200 off the first production run? My theory has been, if this impression is true, that the collector's version would always be the "tightest" in tolerances, due to the new tooling. Somet...

The Lava for sure. Incredible design.
Then that PE Native II, even with it's slightly slimmer profile and slender'r  blade than it's FRN cousins, the heft the SS affords makes for a well balanced tool.
