No, I don't think it's fowl at all. I think you can pullet off. In fact, I think it's plucky.

Re: My Folding Mule Project
Thanks for the info on grinding the intricate bits. So it sounds like high speed (Dremel or Foredom) type tools with a combo of cutting discs, carbide bits, CBN bits, and diamond bits would get the job done. The freehand level of accuracy you're able to obtain, is remarkable. I can see how the tang,...

Re: My Folding Mule Project
Excellent! May I ask how you made the complex and intricate shapes in the very hard steel of the tang? What tools can do this?

Re: Bead blasting G10
Interesting thread. I have often wondered about blasting (with some sort of media, don't know what) the uber-slick carbon fiber scales on a Caly. I'd really like some more traction on those scales. Stuart, you probably know that blasting with baking soda is a common "gentle" media to use. ...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
One does have to give thought to what might be needed versus what is necessary every day. It hardly ever rains here but... Well whaddya know, a fellow SW desert rat...though I'm mostly on the Calif side of the Colorado River, but sometimes east of it. I'll keep an eye out for a guy carrying a D'fly...

Ah, gotcha. No apologies needed. We live in a time when subjectivity rules, so if "pivot screws" means "pins" to you, that's cool, no stigma. Same goes for gender.

I have a dog in this fight, preordered a Magnacut NC LW last BF (and still waiting).
I am hoping once the clip length issue is brought to the attention of Spyderco, they will produce a longer clip... ?

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
Chaparral by the way may be a knife you want to look at. Agreed! but already own. Looking for an excuse and rationale to buy another smaller Spyderco. Wife has a G10 sage D'fly I bought her years ago, but that's off-limits to me; I'm told I have plenty of my own knives to use. So I've narrowed it d...

Re: Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
Thanks for the analysis so far. Would there be less distinction between the FRN D'fly and the Lil' Native LW? Because I'm leaning in the direction of an FRN LW model of one or the other. In which case, the D'fly K390 FRN has 2.3" long blade, 2.5mm thick, 1.2 oz. The Lil' N LW will have a 2.4&qu...

Dragonfly vs. Lil' Native
The Most Interesting Man in the World was recently overheard to say: "I don't always carry small knives, but when I do, I don't know which I prefer, the Dragonfly or the Lil' Native." Given that the MIMITW is seldom indecisive, I thought perhaps the knowledgeable members of this forum coul...

Re: Flattening Whestones
Why do you all appearantly use specifically a glass plate to stick sandpaper or whatever abrasive to? Why not any other hard plate? (Like some metal)? Glass is cheap. Glass is flat enough. Glass wears slowly enough. I have an old cast iron surface plate. It's not super-precise, but I'd prefer to ke...
