I like knives riding high enough that I can grab them and get them out of the pocket in one motion, with no fumbling - it makes for a far comfier handling. Low rider clips and wire clips are out... and the combination is even worse. I use my knives often, though, and I like big folders; no gent's ...

OK, let's keep this quiet.
I have some female friends, and the bilance is that almost all that spend some time with me began to carry a knife. One has a HAK Sting, one a 5" dagger, one a Schrade Sharpfinger... and a kukri . That's right, she sometimes carries a full-size kukri under her jacket, and ...

Well, a reverse S blade in Cara cara handle... something like a budget, everyday use-friendly Matriarch... That would be a knife I would buy in a heartbeat :) .

I don't know. I am into knives, sure, but I have about five I actually carry and use, then about six that just lie here, waiting to get traded, gifted or so. I have a cheap Casio digitals that had been through **** and back with me and they keep on ticking... well, not really, but you get the idea ...

I put a 6" gash in a curtain once - not enough environment-awareness while twirling a k'bit... but waves? Never sliced anything I wasn't supposed to ;) .

I can only answer your third question - yes, I now carry fixed blades and never looked back (true, I still have Subclaw clipped to my pocket, to not scare people...). It isn't inconvenient to carry two to four FBs on my person, if they aren't too large (4 inch blades and under). I like it.

I went through some arts and systems, and today I train mix of things that suit me most (although I will probably join some BJJ club to get more grappling skills). WWII combatives, boxing, Taijutsu, Krav Maga, Jiu-Jitsu, TKD, Pekiti Tirsia Kali, Kali Sikaran, even some kung-fu... all were good :D .

If I would have only a non-locking folder for SD, choil-less or not, I would utilise it closed - to bash things with knife-reinforced hammer fist.

Nifty idea!
The Question, however, is: how does this thing wave? I would expect extreme reliability, given the size of the clamp, but I may be mistaken...
Any changes in comfort of carry, due to added thickness?
