Re: 1,000,000 Post Celebration Contest!
That sheet would make one **** of a piece of wall art... What does the spyderco community mean to me... When I got my first delica in 98, the forum was information and knowledge to absorb... When I started posting and collecting, it was a brotherhood... When I truly started to appreciate the tools a...

Re: Tasman or Atlantic salt for kayaking?
Had a PE endura alongside my SE at work for about a month... same steel and long enough to give it a solid workout... the SE outperformed as the separate curves grab and change angles on the material as you pull rather than only a single plane in PE. PE CAN be sharpened to outperform on a pull for r...

Re: Tasman or Atlantic salt for kayaking?
You know... this forum REALLY needs a multi-quote option... had to fire up a laptop to do this rather than go up and down on my phone. JD: Check your PM's ;) Saw the tusk, but don't have any use for shackle keys. My water time lately has been spent on dad's 30' might-as-well-be-a-yacht... holds 10, ...

Re: Tasman or Atlantic salt for kayaking?
Surfingringo: After 12yrs with the endura, I can use it blindfolded... but wasn't sure if the Pacific was a good choice.
Does the work hardening aspect of H1 help with edge retention on PE? Pretty much expecting this to live on the PDF with kydex.

Tasman or Atlantic salt for kayaking?
Hey everyone... I'm still around, just busy with classes for another month. Picked up a kayak for cheap, going to start using it this summer. Going through my gear here, and other than a light PDF and seeing if my small drybag fits without modifying anything... next up is a knife for the lake... Wou...

Re: Money Saving Tips
For a cheaper shave, locate an Injector. Runs just under a buck a blade, and the single edge gives a shave like a straight without having to pay attention. Been using a 1951 model the last 4-5yrs.

Re: Moving is...
Last time I moved, I took a 30' uhaul to get there, and a 25' to get out again... Couch took 3 of us to get in, and went out via sawzall.

24yrs of sharpening, and I can't truly call myself a master because I still pick up some tricks and changes... I still use a stropping surface in my system, even though it's only the side of the case on my 303mf. I have made a couple full strops, and had a strop hanging all the time at my last place...

Of course I've gotta reply to this one... I've been abusing the same ss/ats-55 'fly since 2001... have a glasshart in my storage, and a g-10/vg-10/PE here still... had a CF from the original release as well as a couple in FRN over the years... which means other than the wooden kit I've held each maj...

lets see... models I've tested over the years in both versions with the same steel in both versions... 1/2 the problem here is that I've played with pretty much every model of spyderco from 99-05. FRN delica in both ats-55 and vg-10 FRN endura in vg-10 SS police in vg-10 military in cpm440v dragonfl...

Well if you wanna split hairs (pun intended) you have to be able to compare two knives of the same model and grind before you can even come close to a factual result here. If you compare a razor blade to ANY SE then yeah it's gonna out perform it but it's more because of the extremely thin edge geo...
