Blades,at SHOT,everything is promotional,NFS,supposed to be a rule,tho` some sales on the last day.These were demo knives,maybe they were prototypes.Do they make a quality exemption for protos?I hope not. Tique,maybe some of the old guard likes the`other' company cause of little improvements,like th...

Not to BYB,Sal,but I visited your booth and the `other` booth down in N.O. and the two Spydies I picked up had a bit of play[OK,they wobbled,and one was a Centofante complock].Not a problem at the `other'place,nice and tight,everyone I handled ,at least a half dozen,no lie.Admittedly,I went to check...

Yea,both of them wedge the same part of the tang,and I guess you would have to either bust the rear pin or tear the liners out to break them,maybe the split liner of the CL might twist and allow the tang to pass the lock.Both of these babies are MF strong,but the CL is not exactly quick to put away ...

Hi there Sal, Couldn`t you make a deal with the Benchmade people and `rent' or whatever,the Axis,it is a very simple mechanism,and would seem to jibe with your philosophy about simplicity,those omega springs are really simple.They didn`t all break like every one predicted,I read that it was really o...

Tique,the autos feel fine to me as the thumb stays on the handle.I just like to play with autos,unfortunately for me they are not cool to use everywhere.The Gunting was a surprise as far as handling goes,it is kind of ponderous,and its my 1st SK,I need to get out more and handle more pieces,I am in ...

public domain?

I heard a rumor that the patent is about to expire on the hole.When I first heard that the hole was actually patented,I couldn`t believe it!Then when I heard that ANYBODY who put a hole on the blade had to get permission and pay Spyderco,I was amazed!A hole!A hole is actually nothing,zero,empty spac...

Some of us like autos.We like the positive control of a coiler,the hand stays on the handle where its supposed to be,and yes,I have one Spyderco-a Gunting-I am aware of its purpose,but I find it awkward.It is also extremely heavy for a piece of its size and blade length,and the release is difficult.

I notice that Spyderco doesn`t seem to offer any automatic knives,why is that?Is the automatic too difficult to make,is it not simple enough?A

HI,I have his book and it is great,makes me feel like becoming a knifemaker someday.But what I am trying to find out is,ahem,why I see his name associated with that "other" knife company--what happened?Seems like we Spydie fans have lost a great asset.
