Can date of production of a spydie be found from the code on the box?

Powder steel

I am plannig to get a new custom folder. I can choose blade made from Elmax, CPM S30V, CPM S60V, CPM S90V or RWL 34 and Damasteel. Is there an important difference among these steels except of carbon contents? Thank.

S30V is a higher league than AUS; how it is stand in comparison to VG10 I do not know. S30V is really very tough steel. I accidentaly slash with my Military to fence wire mesh with almost no harm. Blade is made from D2; length of blade 12.5 cm, width 3.6 cm, thickness 4 mm; handle material jatoba. Maker is "Mudzas", see his gallery on http://www.knife.cz.
