Just watched the videos on Youtube and had to get over here to see what you guys were saying. I love how Sal completely dismisses every comment made by Nutn'. He is so cool and really knows how to deal with fanboy d-bags. Plus, he got his information out there and a lot of free publicity. Win win fo...

Jake - your lanyards look really nice! One additional knot you might want to add to your arsenal is the DIAMOND or LANYARD knot (some call it the CHINESE BUTTON KNOT). You can see one on the Solo knife in my signature. There is a good tutorial by TIAT on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVl6...

Forgot to mention that the ones in these photos are the only ones I've ever done. Not that it matters much, but I just started this last week. Tryin' to do about 1-2 per day. So far friends and family are digging them.

I see this is in two sections. Just in case... I'll repeat my noob question (from the other thread): What are lanyards for? What purpose do they serve? What Sharpguitarist said. Plus, I find that a lanyard on a knife that's carried loose in the pocket or in a bag (like my SAKs and Kiwi in the pictu...

Spydie custom lanyards/fobs etc.

I'd like a little feedback on some of my creations. I know there are countless folks that make similar or much better ones on a regular basis, but each individual's seem a little different. Please PM me if you're interested in something like these for your knife. http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...

Interesting, but the real question would be how realistic is this due to copyright laws etc. and if it would be worth the cost after dealing with Marvel Comics and the movie production company etc...

I just ordered a couple myself. I know I could do some quick research, but didn't these things used to be a lot more expensive? I know they were lock backs and now they're slip joints, but I was shocked when I happened to see the price today (both MSRP on this site and then the "street" pr...

Ha! What a small internet! Yep, after a slight Paypal malfunction I got it fast. Thanks again.

I had two that were LNIB but sold them. Very cool, solid knives. Just figured I could use the cash for other models since I wasn't planning on doing any of the training necessary to really be able to use one.

Zip Tie Madness! (w/pictures)

It's in the photos forum, but I decided to do a zip tie wave on my new Tasman Salt after receiving it in the mail today. Saw some review online that gave me the idea. Well, it worked so well I spent the last half hour on several of my other Spydies. I know it's not a secret and plenty of folks have ...

BTW I just figured out that my new Blackberry Bold was taking slightly blurry photos due to a plastic sheild I had over the lens. Cut it off and I think these turned out pretty darned good for phone pics!

Tasman Salt arrived

Got my PE Tasman in the mail today. I've had a Salt 1 for a while and love it. Wanted the Hawkbill for a good, lightweight, last ditch emergency defense tool. Already did the zip-tie wave mod (which works perfectly). I hesitate to say that the zip-tie mod is just as effective if not more than my old...

Look! Help! Did I molest my JD Smith?

Friends, it has been far too long since I visited and contributed! Although I've been off the forum and my Spydie addiction cooled off for a while, it's come back with a vengeance! In the last few weeks the following made their way into my possession: Smallfly (I'm a sucker for Balis) Endura 4 (flat...

Wow! thanks for all the interesting replies folks. After some more thought, I'm leaning towards any and all Calypso Jr. models as my favorite discontinued. I'm lucky enough to have a micarta handled full serrated Caly Jr. and it may be my favorite knife. If I could find another at a reasonable price...

Favorite Discontinued model

Wow, it's been a while guys. I've gotten promoted at work and engaged to a lovely girl since the last time I posted on this site. Never lost my love for Spydercos though, and my collection is still growing albeit slowly. I'm sorry if this is a recent or common topic, but I was thinking tonight about...
