Sorry, I should have posted that my S90V Millie has experienced no problems with chipping or breaking. I should point out that so far I've only used it to cut.

:)

Lighten up, people...

Out of my collection, I'd pick three in different sizes:

Millie S90V
Para D2
Caly3 ZDP

I might have a problem with your method. I recon the longest hair I have on my head are either eyebrows or nose&ears hair... pretty much all the rest gets shaved every morning!

For me, the Para 1 is the best SE overall and I really like my Caly Jr. micarta SE. But I'm awaiting a Caly 3 in SE. It's hard to imagine I'll like it more than my PE Caly 3 EDC...but we'll see, as I'm developing a true appreciation for SpyderEdge blades. You may be in for a surprise. A SE Caly3 wa...

Millies can be hard to adjust the balance between free rotation, blade play and blade centering. Keep at it until a workable solution is found. The keyword here is "workable", a little blade play, or a little off-centering when closed don't impair any practical fuction, as long as the lock...

I EDC my Millies in RFP, tight jeans. Love'em. Usually I'll also carry a Soldier or a Leatherman for the tools and the beater blade.

Serrated??? Millie and Para, Manix2, Caly3, Tasman Salt, D'fly... Out of the ones I own, I believe my favorite is the Millie, as usual, but all of them get carried.

I'm a simple man. I just hold a regular photocopier paper, hold it by the edge, and do some transversal sliding cuts. If the cut is clean, it's good enough for my practical uses. My sharpenning setup is just a 601 Profile set (quite used) and a retired leather belt loaded with some no-name polishing...

I've only got the Millies in BG42 and S90V, and the CF Caly3, but IMHO the peel-ply is perfect for users. The smooth CF is adequate for dress carry only.

I rotate quite a lot, but most commonly there's some sort of Millie in my RFP. The D2 Military is the only knife I've got two of. The large blade is extremely versatile, and the slim carry makes it disappear in jeans.

Regarding the Millie's thickness, beware: older models (ats-34 and 440V blades) had thinner G10 scales. I actually like the newer thicker ones better. Blade thickness has remained 4mm at the tang.

I own and love several of both. My vote goes for the Millie, but I do have two quirks with them: 1. Adjustment is tricky, as if the blade screw is not properly fastened the blade will wobble against the scales when opening it. Too much torque will slow down the opening. Blade centering is hard to ac...

Would any one else be interested in this configuration or just me. Count me in. Screws, lock, and the S30V DP blade, what a combo. But... ... ...

Both are superb knives, but the Millie is more versatile and capable. You will most probably end up with both, but in case you run short on cash, get the Millie first. There's a reason why it's an iconic knife on Spyderco's lineup, and probably the most mentioned model on the top five thread.
