Don't we already have a superior steel with the Mule 2 and its' CPM-M4? I'm well aware that M2 received a cult following with another production company and for good reason. I think Spyderco would do very well indeed by making the CPM-M4 a regular feature in the lineup.

I would purchase either a folder or fixed blade in damascus. A nice ladder or raindrop pattern would work for me.

The new Sage RIL would be awesome with a damascus blade IMO.

Larry, the Maple was stablized and that's all. It was the first piece of wood I ever bought with the intention of making scales. Sometimes even a blind hog finds an acorn....

Aluminum has not been what I'd call a predominant handle material, but it has been used plenty in the past by Spyderco. Too much for my tastes actually, except for the Chinese Lums.

In my hometown, there is a city ordinance on lockbacks to no longer than 3". The law is not enforced however for the good guys. It was put in place as a reason to pick up the gangbangers if a reason was needed by the boys in blue.

If you don't mind the unavoidable wear, coating a blade seems like a no brainer for long-term preservation and rust-proofing the blade. I use my coated FB Temperance hard in the kitchen and YES I even wash it in the dishwasher. No problem.

I just made my way through all of the great work done by you guys. I'm having some quilted maple put on my MT02 and will post pics when it's complete.

Yes, handle materials probably mean as much to me as the blade steel as well. My favorite so far is the textured CF of the Walker Linerlock Sage. Not far behind is the etched SS of the Dragonfly. G-10 is always good to go. I don't care for the slipperiness of SS, but do like the heaviness of it.

It's also my favorite carry :spyder: EDC. What I like about it is that it seems like Spyderco just nailed the S30V on this one. This knife took directly to 30deg sharpening on the Sharpmaker. VERY easy to get to hair popping sharpness. It's the sharpest knife I own at the moment.

The new LUM was a dissapointment. I ordered one without checking the stats. When it arrived I thought is was designed as a Boy scout knife. This design should have been bigger all away around. I dare say it is a unsafe knife to use for serious social purposes or as an on duty knife. If the ...

I left my Blue ZDP Delica out for a night after skinning several deer and it put on some rust in several spots. It was a little deeper than what I could get out with Flitz and buffing.

I think it's a bit much to expect to leave any knife blade exposed to the elements without some rust. But then ...
