Pacific Salt saves the day at the beach

I purchased a Pacific Salt when they first came out about 10 years ago. I carried an Endura every day and I thought the no rust feature was neat and I wanted to test it out on trips to the beach, lake, etc. I have been carrying it every time I go on or in the water ever since. It has stayed in the ...

I have challenged a few people with coins at get togethers and at the BLADE show and it is fun. Usually the person who does not have his coin has to buy the other a drink. I am not in the military so I don't know exactly how they are used but I believe it is a merit thing. IMO in the knife world it ...

Did your knife do this while brand new? If above suggestions do not work it might possibly be that the bolt that the blade pivots on is just a bit too tight. If you can loosen that just a 1/4 turn that might help. If none of that works I would contact Spyderco. I have/have had over 50 Enduras and I ...

Lock up is still nice and strong. No worries.

I tried gutting and skinning a deer once with a spyder edge with terrible results. The hair kept getting caught in the teeth. Now I will say that I don't rmember exactly how sharp it was but since I have never been able to get spyderedge as sharp as plain edge I have always gone plain. My grandpa wa...

I have been carrying Endura 4s daily since they came out. I have never lost a screw. The pocket clip having three screws is much easier to work with than the old gen 2 that had the single large bolt if the clip gets bent. The threes screws also keep it tighter and keep the clip from rotating. Get an...

edb66-that looks really nice. Do you have a scale so you can weigh it? I am curious.

I would say the odds are 100% that it is a FFG. That's what the description says in the add. If it's a Saber grind and you don't want it return it at their expense. While I agree you should be correct I see that several sellers on the 'bay are still showing Gen1 FRN Enduras in the pictures when the...

I am almost certain that they stopped making the saber ZDP Endura over 1.5 years ago. I think they told me at the Spyderco booth BLADE 2011 that they were going to phase it out. I purchased one in October 2011 at a gun show. I think it is likely it is FFG. If it is saber, send me a PM.

Don't be deceived by the construction of the linerless Salt knives. They are almost completely bomb-proof and tough as any knife out there. I have a Salt1/Pacific pair I use as my main fishing knives - they have seen long dunks in salt water, storage in the tacklebox, clipping to the belt during ro...

Not sure what you will be using it for that you would not be confident with FRN. I have been carrying FRN for 20 years and have NEVER had one fail in any way. That being said...the Manix and Manix XL feel very strong to me.

I make no excuses that the Endura is my favorite. I see what you are saying about close to the Military and wanting a smaller knife for around people though. I have a Stretch in ZDP that will be here any day that I am hoping will feel a little better in my hand than the Delica. I don't have any you ...

Steel really doesn't matter to me if I like the design of the knife. I like to try different steels though in old standby designs. For instance, I paid the extra for ZDP in the Endura and I can tell the difference. I would try any new steel in the Endura or Delica.

Welcome to the forums! the ball bearing lock will be A LOT stronger and imo easier to use one handed. i strongly dislike lock backs because they all have vertical play when enough force is pushed on the blade. Intersting....I have both and find the Delica much easier to open because the hole is far...

I used to give Victorinox knives away to boys (and family girls) who were in about the 5th grade and crossing over from Webelos into Boy Scouts or kids that have started hunting/camping. One thing I learned is that it is often hard to open these if the kid doesn't have finger nails. While I still va...
