If it's too much like a Strider then why not just buy a Strider?

As for the nightmare grind. I have a MSC NM and it's not the most practical grind

I've had dozens of both. Strider do have some good design ideas but for practical application I'd vote Spyderco every time. That said, something like a lightweight SnG with a compression lock and wire clip would be great. And a thinner edge grind than Striders usual stuff!

Military D2

I've never liked the Military enough to give it a second glance even though my favourite is the PM2. I even passed on a cheap cruwear one recently. Now it just so happens that I have a D2 sprint user on the way. I'm secretly hoping to be impressed :)

That was my first thought, but according to google there are quite a few out there without tubes. Enough to make me doubt my initial guess.

Southard lanyard hole, tube or no tube?

I have two Southard flippers, one with tubing in the lanyard hole and one without. I've browsed the web and it seems that some have the tube and some don't. Was there a change in production or have some people removed it (the previous owner to mine included)?

No, I didn't. The thing is that it wasn't ok after assembly. It took time to settle, I guess?

Ok, so I put the knife in its box and wrote to Spyderco. They got back to me and asked me to send it in. I took it out to check it before packing and it was alright! Can't say why, but it flips just fine. I will make a video showing that as well, I don't want to fault the knife or Spyderco.

Lots of great feedback and ideas to try out! :D For longer runs I usually wear a pack and tend to have a knife in it, but I like the idea of wearing a knife on my person for easy access. I'm going for an easy five mile jog now so I'll try the Para 2 clipped to my tights. Got a pre-owned one yesterda...

Running with a knife

Which knife do you carry while running and how do you carry it? I carry a Ladybug Hawkbill Salt in a pocket when I runt, but I would like to carry a larger knife during my runs. I haven't found a good way to carry one without excessive bouncing or chafing though. I usually run between 45 min and 2 h...

I carry a Ladybug H1 hawkbill when I work out and love that I can forget it in a sweat drenched pocket without any issues. I plan to get a Tasman as my next purchase :)

I've found the problem. The ball bearings on the stiff one are too big. I've made a video to explain, I'll upload it shortly.

I've tried adjusting the pivot but it doesn't do much besides push the blade off centre.

Stiff Southard

One of my Southards is much less smooth than my other one, so much so that it needs a firm wrist motion for it to flip open. I've cleaned it with water and a mild detergent, as per the instructions. I've lubricated it with Sentry Tuf-Glide, and since it didn't help I took it apart side by side my ot...

Southard edges

I have different angles on my Southards and am still deciding which I prefer. Certainly, the thin one cuts much better but it sacrifices strength and with the thick blade stock it feels a little bit like trying to make an apple out of an orange. What are your thoughts on the Southard blade and edge?...
