Here are some Mule 1 dimensions if that helps. Note Deacon's post regarding hole size and location changes or Mule 2.

The purpose of the Mule Team knives was to get them in use and gain experience with the steel sufficient to provide Spyderco with field lessons-learned for use in future knives. Of course you can Safe Queen them - they are your knives.

I didn't get a mule this time around, but plan to the next go around. I've been looking for different materials to use as handles/scales for my future mule. I'd like to know what size (LxW) would be sufficient for each slab of material? Can any of you knifemakers out there measure your mule handle ...

I undertand that Scott Gere (scgere@AOL.com) has fasteners for the current holes in the current mules. On the next run, we will use 3/16" holes in place of the 5/32" holes. Thanx much for your patience and kind understanding. sal Thanks Sal - just the info that I needed! Regards, CWO

Sal's far too much of a gentleman to say it, so I will. Thank you for demonstrating so eloquently that no act of kindness goes unpunished. I doubt there's another company that would have given even a moment's consideration to a project like the Mule Team. While it is outside my personal ...

I confess that I am puzzled that this thread died kind of quietly without anyone finding a reasonably off-the-shelf solution to scale attachment. Has anyone found a method to attach scales (not permanently) without inventing custom hardware (as Tricod had to do)? How hard is drilling out the holes o...

I have several Fenixes and I'm glad that I bought each of them. They are a great value for the cost and as a company are quicker and more agile than the well-known, entrenched "premium" flashlight makers in terms of adopting new technology to improve performance and good generation turnover.
