Ikuchi may be perfect. Light, fun, slim, capable. No issue for big hands.
Second!

It’s similar to the Boker Urban Trapper. I have/like both but the Ikuchi wins, for me.

Re: What is it that sets a good knife apart from a great one?

I think your “my hand loves it better” is the biggest factor. Or maybe substitute (or add) “my pocket”.... I used to base knife purchases solely (or even just “primarily”) on single factors like materials, lock, clip, size etc but frequently, though those knives checked whatever box(es) I was focuse...

Re: Eye Glasses

Or is it like knives, the more expensive are always or generally better? To some degree, it is. My “best” glasses ever (in like 40 years since switching from glass lenses, which were heavy but optically superior) were Zeiss. They are expensive and kinda hard to find, but I think I located an optici...

Why do they not have transporters? They would have come in handy in so many episodes. (I mean, they have in cabin food replicators so....)

And yes, season two is WAY better

Are you implying 42 is old, Kristi? (cough, cough) 😄

Sidenote, the biggest ethical issue in the hobby, in my opinion, are flippers.
Is that because most flippers are not practical utility tools but more like novel mechanism knives?
You’re probably joking but I’m assuming he meant “knife flippers” not “flipper style knives”

Re: WiFi clock?

Thanks Dan, I’m currently using my iPad mini the same way and I have an app that does a great job (shows weather and cal data as well) but my iPad is getting old and I thought not running it all night like that would be “better”. So that got me thinking, surely this “exists”, you know?

WiFi clock?

Hey guys, do any of you have a recommendation for a clock that syncs it’s time via WiFi? It doesn’t need to have much else. I’d prefer A) plug in not battery (battery backup is fine). B) dimly lit, it’s for my nightstand C) not too big but at least 1” - 2” digits (I don’t wear my glasses when I slee...

Re: Advanced Sharpening Systems On The Horizon?

My understanding is that the EP system creates quite a lot of slurry that floats over the blade face, and that slurry can cause extensive scratching to the blade - this is something that concerns me greatly, as I typically am not that great at watching for such things. I wouldn’t necessarily worry ...

Re: The case for PAID shipping

With one of us it might be a late knife but with others it could be much more important. I'm far more forgiving of honest mistakes than I am of deliberate halfassing. In my case it was my wife’s meds, which is why I chased the guy down. Anything less I’d have let it roll. But I hear you, brother. Ken

The part where it is baldly asserted that you should not, under any circumstances, sharpen any knife containing steel with a diamond stone. Im sorry, I can’t buy that. Now, I’m not a Russian scientist, just a guy who uses (and sharpens) his knives. I have, use and like my WEPS. I have a lot of diff...

Oh I'd absolutely lose it over that. That's deliberate failure to do your job and that's not ok. That guy needs fired.
Haha, yeah, i guess I’m just a little more relaxed about the whole thing. It all worked out, and generally does.

Re: The case for PAID shipping

Our USPS does that frequently. In every case, the package was delivered the next day. Whether they delivered it or it had been misdelivered to a neighbor who put it in our box I couldn’t tell you, but once I watched the USPS truck go by, saw the online status go to delivered. Nothing in our box but ...

Yeah, there’s a case to be made there. It’s a whole lot of fun though. Kinda like having a stick of dynamite go off in your hand, haha. But your hand still works afterward.
