It was kind of big. 6 oz. The blade was 3 3/4 but it seemed bigger. Just over 8 1/2 inches long total. But it is so solid and beautiful. The best knife ever.

CHINOOK.... will it ever be re-released? Sprint runs? Please!!!!

I really miss my Chinook. I think it was the best knife I ever owned. I would really love to buy another one. But I can't find one anywhere. And I heard prices on Ebay are insane. I also looked for a Paramilitary and Kopa, but those seem to be out of production as well. But I really really really wa...

I loved my old Chinook, so... I will buy a new one. :)

Ok , I am going to buy a new Chinook. :)

Are they made with different steels now? Which one is the best?

No H1 yet probably? I like the idea of a knife never rusting. I need to learn more about steel. One of my weak subjects.

History repeats itself.

Sequimite, Jubba359, my friends, you prove my point. We tend to see Chinese goods as inferior or trash. Like our parents or Grandparents saw Japanese goods in the 1950's or 1960's. GM plants in China now make quality cars. China has space craft. Look around, your TV, Laptop, fan, plastic shelving, d...

Sal, Thanks so much for your comments. I have a great respect for you and your company. I think you are doing an amazing job of balancing the need for lower costs and maintaining quality and keeping your business prosperous in this weird global economy we are all apart of now. The under-priced yuan ...

Quality Chinese knives = Trouble for US knife makers??

When you look at the quality of Byrd and other Chinese made knives, you realize that if the right company fakes these knives, and can import and sell them for 1/5 or 1/10 the cost, American companies are in real trouble. This fake is as good as a Byrd in my opinion. Almost as good as the real Delica...

Interesting. So I could be right, I was so certain the blade was vg10 on my Chinook. I really loved that knife. I used it hard on several occasions and it never rusted and it kept pretty sharp. When I held it in my hand, I could really feel the strength and quality in that knife.

Dr Snubnose, I noticed your icon pic shows a revolver. Do you edc a light frame revolver? Is it .38 special? What cartridges do you carry? Sorry to change subject, but I remember you being very knowledgeable on firearms and knives. I carried 200 gr lead bullets that my Dad gave me. Those are gone no...

Thanks dsmegst. And you are right, S30V is the steel I meant, that is what I think my Chinook was. (but I could be wrong again) I don't know so much about steel. But the Chinook was wonderful. Hmmmm... now i have to get my knives out and find which is made of vg10. The "country of origin" ...

Current list of USA made Spydercos?

Well I survived another year of school, so I decided to buy myself a new Spyderco. I would like to support the workers in Colorado by buying one they made. I have not been on this site for a while and I am not current on anything related to knives. So, is there a current list of knives made here in ...

Fake Delica from China, but nicely made for $7.00.

The top knife is the real thing, the bottom one is the fake. It is very well made and the blade locks up very tight. This is not a typical cheap Chinese fake. Swap meet guy said they are 440 steel or Chinese equivalent. I paid $7.00 (1/2 price due to loose pocket clip) http://img560.imageshack.us/im...

K-Bar Combat knife 1095 vs 420J2 steel.

I decided to get a couple of K-bar knives. I like the 1095 steel, but am thinking about a stainless version. The "real" k-bars cost about $50 but the stainless copies are $13. How does 420J2 hold up compared to 1095?

Any reputable dealer. New Graham Knives , Tom Berry ( Spydercovt ), Spydieguys , KnifeCenter , and a number of others, for example. As for the hole yes, it's being ripped off more and more, and not just by the Chinese. Thanks so much Deacon. ;) And I remember that angry discussion about that Benchm...

Any advice on where to buy a real Kopa? My computer crashed and I lost all my links. :(

Fake Kopas, how can they legally sell an exact copy of someone else's work? The Spyderhole is no longer exclusive to Spyderco correct? I see so many name brands stealing that one.

How do we order these? I have never bought a forum knife before. Are they pre-order? When will they be available? Are they numbered? :D :D :D
