Weak spring
I also have one of the origonal remote release. Really neat concept. The one issue I had was that the spring holding the clip in place was IMHO very weak. Just brushing against it would open it. I ended up never carrying it for fear of loosing it. Still have it in NIB condition. PM me if interested.

CE Rules!
By far the knives I find myself carrying the most are CE. Just gives me the most utility in a single blade knife. It's a good new - bad news kind of thing. The bad news is there are some really great models i would like to have, but I keep waiting and hoping they are released in CE. The good news is ...

It's not what you expect
ELT1 was right on target. Most cops are not knife people, nor are most cops gun people for that matter either. We don't choose this career because of the equipment we can carry. For the most part we choose this career because of the excitement, the freedom, the brotherhood, the danger, and service ...

CE Rocks
We'll despite being in the minority, I'm a huge CE fan. I do have some PE and SE, but since I only EDC one knife, I always choose a CE. For some strange reason I actually like to cut open envelopes and packages, not shred them. Yet there are times the SE is needed, such as cutting rope ot twine ...

CE history
Hey, just wondering if anyone knows of a list / database / spreadsheet that identifies which models are / were available with the CE Combo edge.
For example, I would like a paramilitary with the CE, but i don't think this has ever be released.
Has anyone had any success in getting SFO to add CE ...

remote release I
I have the older remote release. It's unique. Great idea, but the spring on my version is very weak and just a passing brush against something would open the gate. I have not used it much at all for fear of loosing it. I would recommend having a dummy cord to secure it.

Ps ?
One major feature in my favorite EDC has been a 50/50 plain / serrated blade. This would IMHO increase sales of this model. Think about it, best of both worlds. The ultimate in utility. :spyder:

Really....
I must say that I am surprised with the number of folks here that are advocates of having a safety button.
If the purpose of an auto is for speed or self defence, why would anyone want the added complexity and risk of having a safety device that might not allow the knife to be depoyed when needed ...

Actually...
I had one of these, but it was stolen enroute back to Golden for a repair. USPS eventually reimburse me for the loss as it was insured. Althoug it looked grand, I was not to impressed with the very small hole, the fact that the hole was only accessible from one side, and that on the side it was ...
