Rare numbered C46 Lum twins reunited.
Im quite possibly the biggest fan in the world of the original C46 Bob Lum tantos. I foolishly sold my original C46GP in a moment of stupidity and regretted it ever since. For years, I searched for a replacement of the plain edge black G10 model. Over the course of those years I purchased every re-r...

Re: "hard use"
I'd rather a bend then a break. But that's just the tip. Hard use should be a thick blade down to the tip that doesn't bend. Something that can be poked into as well as split a log. Making a hard use design is hard. I definitely haven't seen one from the co that peaks my interest in a while. I like ...

Re: Spyderco be like...
Trying to serve a group of very smart and dedicated blade afi's in the world of knife design and function is an interesting challenge. We accept the challenge. I have had the thought about making a run of Traditional Tanto's as an ethnic series. sal As the OP, and a forum member for almost 20 years...

Re: Spyderco is the Rolex of the knife world
Quality never goes out of style, or loses value. I wear and carry the highest quality tools I can afford, Fortunately I purchased the watch 21 years ago when I could actually afford it. Man that is in amazing condition for 21 years old, the insert hasn't even began to patina. Looks like a service d...

Official knife/watch picture thread? Belongs in "Off-Topic" or "Picture Gallery" This entire thread has been click-baity, and that request put it over the top. Oh please. that is obvious. You love this. You posted. You FEEL something. My post meant we need a watch/knife thread, ...

C46 the original Spyderco "tanto". Better than the rest. Nihonto is drop point. Do it right. Do it again.

Re: Spyderco is the Rolex of the knife world
I note the VG10 sprint I have coming does not retain the Appleseed, yet the taper on the spine at the tip seems about like yours. So are you declaring an actual loss of tip-strength with the change in design, or just holding to design principle? Did production versions after the original Ti retain ...

Re: Spyderco is the Rolex of the knife world
I'm so glad I made this thread... Rolex is the king of production watches. The pm2 is the submariner of the knife world. The Paramariner is a thing, prove me wrong! Rolex movements are extremely well designed and thought out, they are my favorite to work with. Who said I don't buy spydercos anymore,...

Re: Spyderco is the Rolex of the knife world
Appreciate all the replies this was fun. I got to post pics of my c46 I'm happy. I do use it a bit. I'd love a regular c46gpe for a user if anyone wants to shed one. They don't make the Toyota Hilux anymore do they? Look like a smock with burgundy micarta scales. If I don't complain about lack of ta...

Re: Spyderco is the Rolex of the knife world
Or.. are they the memory chip of blue whales? Or the aurora borealis of sovereign debt? Or maybe the running shoe of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring? It's a tool. A good tool. But just a tool. And, quite a simple tool in concept and construction. Nothing in common with high end watches. Not even positi...

Re: Spyderco is the Rolex of the knife world
The pm2 is a huge seller. I own and love many. I love the fine tip but a stronger tip would be a welcome addition to the line. A drop point Spyderco basically becomes a leaf point blade due to the Spyder hole issue. Let's forget the "mall ninja tanto" shape. It's ridiculous and I'm not ask...

Re: Spyderco is the Rolex of the knife world
A few random thoughts here... Before the ***** screwed up the supply chains of almost every industry, most regular production Spyderco models were readily available from online dealers at 30% below MSRP and, while some are now out of stock, those that are available are still being similarly discoun...

Ugh! Did you just compare a $5,000 Tudor Black Bay to a Byrd!? Pour salt in the wound why don't ya! I'll presume it doesn't apply to mine since it has the latest free sprung silicone balanced In house chronometer movement! :winking-tongue Rolex and high demand spydercos..
