Re: You’re all sneaky keeping the REC manix 2 to yourselves

My son turns 12 tomorrow…and he is spending his birthday money on this one. I was tempted to put it up at 400 so he gets the life lesson of the secondary market 😂…lol. He’s over the moon excited.

I’m in CO and it came today with standard free USPS shipping, fyi.

Re: 2022 Reveal — Stovepipe Thread C260TIP

I dropped into SFO today and held this beauty. It’s awesome…but the price is asinine. I’m probably one of the biggest Spyderco apologists, but this one is insane.

I can get a Randall for these prices…no thanks.

Re: Seconds sale

My Brouwer that Yablanowitz graciously picked up and shipped for me arrived today. I can find no flaw with it, so I have to wonder if it was a second because of damaged packaging and not due to a flaw. Often times there is a flaw that only the QC folks can find or perceive. I’ve heard it’s how a lo...

Re: Seconds sale

I was surprised to be third in line this year and get in on the swag as well. I was proxy shopping for six people and did pretty well with some help from my friends. Didn't bat a thousand, but only struck out completely once. I gotta win the lottery before the next one. I had already handed off one...

I might swing by here this afternoon.
How’s the line (assuming you’re there)?

You weren’t asking me—but when we got there at 1330, there were about 100 people in line. We passed and went to get beer at the Cannonball Creek Brewery down the road.

Re: Spyderco's ATS-55 Era of the late 90s

I only have one left in my collection, it’s a super slicey Endura I bought in the early 2000’s. This steel was the ticket back when…great thread topic.

I was there to pick up an engraved Crucarta today, saw Mushroom setting his tent…excited for y’all.

Camping at these events aren’t about the knives…they are the friendships and the experience of togetherness, in my experience. Have fun!

Re: Your 2021 Spyderco Knife of the Year !

I have two…

As a user, the P4 K390 in PE. It’s my duty cut everything knife, and it is amazing.

As a weekend off duty knife, the REC Shaman. I love carrying and using this baby, and it even matches my HK VP9 in OD green.

Looking forward to 2022!

Re: Any Vegans Around?

Hey JD, A book I consider to be the 'Vegan Manifesto' is How Not to Die by Michael Greger. It's 100% a sales pitch for veganism, but it has some really good data/research (as well as some not so good--one study he cites had less than 10 participants, for example). It's well worth reading, just from...

Re: Shaving Razors recommendations?

In recent years there has been a great resurgence in wet shaving with a straight or a safety razor…have you ever considered this? With my assortment it brushes, soaps and two razors with different blades (.08-.12 cents per)…shaving has become something I look forward to rather than tolerate. Bull go...

Re: Any Vegans Around?

The Beyond burgers are good, and this is coming from a “at least one burger per week” guy Have your tried the Impossible Burgers? As a long-time vegetarian, I couldn’t handle how real both Beyond and Impossible tasted at first - now I love them in moderation. I wonder which appeals more to a burger...

Re: Any Vegans Around?

I would not call my self a vegan, as philosophically I have no issue with using animals in an ethical and ordered way. That being said, my family converted to a strict plant based, low sodium and low oil diet a year and a half ago…we’d never ever go back. My wife had issues with cholesterol, blood p...

Re: BHQ Exclusive PM2 - DLC REX45/Copper

Mine landed today. One of the most unique knives I’ve owned. The copper has a great feel and heft…I love it. The blade is scalpel sharp.

Blade HQ and Spyderco nailed this knife. Contemplating picking up a second.
