This one strike close to home for me too.
My parents have a cabin on a river in north GA, and these beasts inevitably build around the river every year. They may have been brown instead of black, but I'm pretty sure we have those too. My then 5 yr old son found a nest, and being especially curious about bugs and other wildlife, he went to i...

Awesome.
I still have trouble reconciling the quality of your work with your youth. It looks like the stuff that you're putting out should be coming from a grizzled vet with vast experience. Really, really nice.

Interesting Thread
For me, Dodo's, Para's and Crickets are the cat's meow. Love the wave, don't mind the green g-10 (I'm a function over appearance/form kind of guy). My favorite handle colors are the blue FRN that some of the early waved Delicas came with, and the orange (don't loose it in the woods) G-10. I'd really...

I can relate.
Just had 3 removed (2 back, one leg). One back and one leg were mildly dysplastic. So, I'll be checked yearly and watched closely for sure (redhead). We are MUCH more carefull with my kids and exposure than my parents ever thought about being. Changing times and awareness and all that. Good luck wit...

Might not be possible with a slipit, but
how about some user interchangability. You buy the basic knife "frame" maybe with a few permanently attached implements (blade in particular), and then choose the kit: electronics repair set with mini screw drivers, torx, little light, etc, outdoor set with saw, ferro rod, awl, etc, office...

Seriously blows.
Good luck, and you might want to make a pawn shop run as was suggested earlier. Two nights ago, someone went through the family cars right in our driveway. Nothing of significance was taken with the exception of the face plate of my radio. We're suspecting kids because they couldn't get the radio ou...

I'm just getting over breaking the little bone behind my right pinky finger. I don't compete, but I do ride mountain and road a fair bit. It's only been 2 months, and my family is looking forward to the day when the weather complies with my desire to get back out there. I'm physically ready, but I n...

This will probably be the one to loosen my wallet. I was interested in this back when it first hit the forums (and still am). I was thinking about getting a Para, but this looks to be a surpreme slicer. I have cheapo fixed blades for the type of work that requires batoning. One or two of these will ...

Just to add a few more pennies...
Gunmike and Vamp are leading you the right way. My experience was exactly like yours (only hitting the cutting edge on one side). You need to spend some quality time at the 15 degree setting until the sharpie trick proves that you are getting all the way to the cutting edge. At that point you will h...

Sounds like a Steep Angled Delica
Just reinforcing what Gunmike (and others) said. Do the sharpie trick. I had a delica that spent MUCH time on a DMT coarse propped up on a Sharpmaker. The side that was the most obtuse was the same one that you're having trouble with. It was more obtuse than the 15 degree setting of the sharpmaker. ...

Thanks for the heads up.
I'm in Gainesville and will probably try to make it down. I'll keep an eye on this thread and see if/when an accumulation of spydie folk may occur. With rain on tap for the weekend, I hope I get a chance to stop by for a while. Thanks again for the post.

I'll have 2
As close to the original as possible for me. I like the thick blade, the steel (s30v) and the lock. Though I never really had a problem with the original clip, I can understand why others did. I'd love to have some indexing feature on it if possible, but it's no deal breaker if it's not there. I'm n...

Had the same problem
I found that the factory edge on my delica wave was very obtuse. It took quite a bit of material removal (forget about the sharpmaker unless you're using diamond rods) to thin the back bevel enough to be able to use the sharpmaker to maintain it. Once that's done, the sharpmaker is great, and the de...

Kind of What I expected.
Thanks for the replies, gents. I guess I'll just have to decide whether to keep it or return it. I think that I will send them a pic of my subcom to let them know how a liner-lock should work (I get the feeling from my conversation and emails that they are unsure). I'll report back if anything furth...

Advice Regarding Victorinox Problem
Hi all, I just need some advice, just to make sure that I'm not off in the tall grass on this one: I purchased a Vic Fireman--large knife with the collection of tools that I was looking for. Fit/finish on everything is great except for the liner lock. I'm used to liner locks catching the blade tang ...

Plain Generally Speaking
Like others, I do like serrated for cutting things like zip ties etc. I also like it in a cricket, and wish I had a serrated dodo, but plain usually gets the nod for my uses.

You guys hang in there. This is a long, hard road that any parent of young'n's could unexpectedly find him/herself walking. I'm sorry it's you guys while at the same time I'm cautiously glad it's not me. I sincerely pray that you find the strength and discernment that you need as you need it, and th...

It's all about cost.
I agree that the box needs to be good enough to protect the fit/finish of the knife while en route, but I'd rather spend my money on the knife than the package. I'm guessing that the change was a financially driven one, so maybe some more, knife-stabilizing stuffing is in order if this is a common o...
