Re: High-Impact Ceramic (HIC) first folder to be released

Yeah, I have to agree with Mushroom. It might be a challenge just trying to talk the vendors into it. There would be issues doing it in Golden. I'm sure if they wanted it bad enough they could by assigning enough resources to it but would it be worth the time and effort doing it? The old ones put ou...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?

I'd carry my Enduras no matter what the law said. I'm too used to it and have more than 30 years of muscle memory and because of that I can get it out and use it faster than any auto I have ever owned. I have arthritis and some nerve damage in my hand also which makes my hand numb at times and the d...

Re: New Sprint Run Hopefuls to Consider

I'm with you on the Harpy joe. Those are very good knives and well built. On the other hand I'd like a modern Merlin as well in FRN with a good steel. Vivi has brought up a C95 sprint more than once and I have to agree with him. They would probably be expensive now but with a nice tough tool steel (...

I'd guess the burr isn't gone but still there and making it feel really sharp until use when it folds and does as you see. That is my guess anyways. Good luck.

Re: Why is 1095 steel popular amongst knife makers?

1095 does have name recognition. They have been making knives with it since WW2 and generations have grown up with it including me. When I was a kid knives I could afford had carbon steel ( most often 1095) and Stainless or "surgical stainless" ( usually one of the 440 steels and sometimes...

I was sure they'd handle it quickly. I mostly wanted to support because I know how frustrating a disappointment can be. sal Thanks for doing it how you do. Perhaps I'm over confident but after years of seeing you and Kristi make even complicated stuff look easy down to the smallest detail I expect ...

Re: EXTREMELY disappointed with Spyderco. Update: Resolved!

Sal and Co. to the rescue!! Maybe, maybe not. I'm convinced Spyderco would straighten it out without any intervention because they are Spyderco. I was convinced of that from the first time I read the original post . For some reason the younger generation wants to whip up a mob every time someone ma...

Re: EXTREMELY disappointed with Spyderco

I still don’t understand why people continue to attack the poster either directly or indirectly. If you ordered a 25sq ft three door Whirlpool from Lowe’s and a 18sq ft side by side showed up how would you react. I’m sure Lowe’s would make it right but that’s not really the point. This shouldn’t ha...

Re: EXTREMELY disappointed with Spyderco

Joe......they shorted him nearly $250 worth of product. I think you would agree, that's not the luck of the draw. It's just a bad mistake on Spydercos part Not arguing that. Knowing Spyderco the way I ( most of us here) do I wouldn't get that upset and I'd give them a chance to straighten it out be...

Re: EXTREMELY disappointed with Spyderco

Maybe you can put off upsetting yourself until they give you the “sorry sir, it’s luck of the draw” response. I doubt they will but that is just my opinion. :) In the mean time do some chores, go out with friends, exercise , whatever you want. You seem to want to make yourself more miserable as is. ...

Re: Gotta rethink my hunting/gutting knife…S110V FAIL!

All in all that S110v held up pretty well to what you asked it to do. I'd guess there was some lateral forces involved as well looking at the knife. I think a simple geometry change will solve that . Maybe a microbevel too. S110v is not a tough steel by any comparison but considering how high the ca...

Re: December 7th, A Day that will live in infamy

I hadn’t heard that about WW2. There appears to be a habit, though, of generals and politicians claiming in hindsight that their failures were in fact deliberate, and the incidental benefits were intended. Most promoted to general officer ranks in peace time are politicians . They use their uniform...
